(Post 1) Human Design is About Decision Making
You cannot talk to the mind and say, “Listen mind, why don't you cool it for awhile.” You can't talk to it; it's not the way it works. You simply have to strip it of its power.
There is no other way. Its power over you is the decision making Authority that you have given it in this life that was conditioned in you to give it by your parents, by your culture. You need to strip away that authority. And there is only one way to do that. It’s what this knowledge is here for. Human Design is very simple. It is about decision making and how to make decisions as yourself. You have a Strategy and Authority. Follow it. And slowly, it takes time, everything does, but the discipline is deeply rewarded because you begin to see. And seeing is what it’s all about."

(Post 2) We are Here to See
It‘s only then that you begin to see, to see. You‘re here to see. You‘re here to be passengers in the backseat. And we‘re here to do something very special with that seeing. We can only get to it uniquely. But the moment we achieve it is the moment we turn around and we do what we do best, what we‘ve always done best, what we‘ve always done better than any other creature: communicate.
Oh, the magic of awareness communicated, the beauty of what we call outer authority. It‘s better than enlightenment. It‘s better than awakening in the sense that those things do not apply. It‘s not about any of that. It‘s about being what we‘ve always been, what we will eternally be: filters. We‘re here to filter the consciousness field. And we‘re here to filter it as purely as we can and share it.
Outer authority will be better than sex; I guarantee it, because it‘s something else. We‘ve lived in a world without difference. It is a sad thing, because there is so much that‘s there. And it‘s only when we can fully embrace difference that we can learn again the magic of what it is to be enthralled, to be entertained, to be stimulated, to be able to share a level of consciousness that is beautiful; and not the not-self world with its lies, with its dull, boring, bromides communication, boring patterns, same old chitchat, and same old stuff.
Yes, any human being can be transformed. I know that. I know that deeply. I know it, not as a believer, but I know it as a scientist, as a mechanic. The question mark is the being itself. That‘s the question mark. It is how ready you are to be here for you, first and foremost, absolutely, to embrace this as radically as you can because this is it. This is it.

(Post 3) Claim Your Own Authority
85,000 years of mental gymnastics—mind is impressive, isn't it? And yet, think about it. What we get to understand through Human Design is that the mind has no way to control the life, the true life, your life. It can only pretend to control a life it makes up. We live in a world built on lies, layers and layers and layers and layers and layers and layers of lies until they all become normal. It's just lies. And nobody knows any better. We‘re all stuck in the old model, in the old way of healing. One of the most incredible things about being able to see the dynamic of what it is to be in this form is to understand it gives us an opportunity that has never existed before. It is an opportunity to claim our own authority.
Homo Sapiens gave its authority to its not-self mind. And through its not-self mind, it gave authority to every conditioning force in its life. There is no freedom. There is no individuality. There is nothing but giving authority to anything and anyone and everything, from God all the way down to your lover, your dog, and your friend. This is what mind brings, because only through the mental plane, the only way you can exist is being driven by fear that you cannot control your life, a fear that drives you further and further and further away from what you can be from this [nine-centered] into a pale, distorted imitation of this [seven-centered].
Look at the madness of the world we live in. It‘s mad and it passes for normal. There are things Human Design reveals that shows so clearly that so many human beings on this plane never get a chance. And they never get a chance because they are being conditioned by the old model. The mind, everything up to the mind, every decision up to the mind and every decision rooted in a fear that has to be dealt with, every decision loses one deeper and deeper and deeper and deeper into the conditioning, and always giving up your authority.
How afraid human beings are that they cannot stand on their own authority. How ignorant they are that they do not know how to stand on their own authority, that you give up your life, you give up your promise, your purpose, your potential, and you throw it away for what—an illusion? When Human Design came into the world, it came to announce the presence of this nine-centered transitional form. This is what we are and we have to discover it. We have to nurture it, and not for some generalized result, but so that each and every one of you can live out the uniqueness that you have a right to. You have a right.

(Post 4) The Body is the Life
We are a binary consciousness. We have a vehicular consciousness. And the vehicle, the body is the life. It is a bio-form. It has to deal with what it is to be on the material plane. It is what the life is all about. The Personality is a passenger.
It is not the life. It is the witness of the life, the watcher. It is not the life. Human Design takes an enormously deep spiritual concept and just turns it into simple mechanics because that‘s what the mechanics reveal.
You have to surrender, give up your mind being your authority. There is no other way. And begin to trust in what is the power that is inherent in your design. Without Strategy and Authority you can‘t be aligned. You‘re not going to make decisions correctly, you don‘t have access to the cognition you need, and the sensory potential that is inherent in you. You don‘t have any of that. You‘re just another fool; lemmings, actually. So I know you will find transformation interesting. But please beware; these steps are only for those who are willing to go there alone, regardless of the consequences, because it‘s the only thing that‘s evergoing to matter for you.

(Post 5) You Cannot Escape What You Are
Now, think about your life that way. Think about what happens to you when your not-self mind takes over your life because of things that you are not and makes them a big deal. Oh I know. I have an open emotional system. It wreaked havoc in my life. You can't escape what you are. You can‘t escape the way in which we are structured. You can‘t, but you can be smart. You can take advantage. What the mechanics provide is a way to take advantage, a way to see this and look at this and say, ”I do not want to live this, that I live my life for everything but me and I actually believe all that stuff.”
I want to see what‘s possible. You‘re unique. The possibilities are endless. Who knows? It is an extraordinary journey, this journey, this deconditioning, this peeling away all the authorities that have ruled your life, all of them. No rule by gods or authorities or humans. It‘s just you. Nobody has a right to control your movement in this maya. Nobody.

(Post 6) Social Consequences
But it is a radical step. It‘s not like experimenting with a diet. Like everything else in Human Design, it totally ignores social convention. It has nothing to do with homogenized groupings. It‘s about the individual, which means in most cases it changes what is the most deeply social homogenizing tool that the program has, the family dinner table, the restaurant—homogenization madness. And then think about what it‘s like for you who have always been slightly different and now are very different. You might be making funny noises when you‘re making decisions that irk other people. You may have already pissed somebody off because you insist on having your own space. And now you don‘t want to eat with them.
If you‘re going to walk this way, you‘re going to have to be a very selfish warrior. This is not a cakewalk. This is not some kind of game. It‘s really quite something. It‘s about nurturing your power, your authority, and your beauty. It‘s about learning how to trust yourself. It‘s only when you begin to trust yourself that you can begin to love yourself. Human beings basically don‘t like themselves at all. It seems so important what somebody else thinks because you‘re lost in a homogenized world where those things trap you and imprison you.
Every step you take in this knowledge moves you further and further into your process, not somebody else‘s. It‘s not an easy thing to share. It is a deep, deep inner process. It‘s yours. Everything about the world around you is an illusion. It‘s the illusion you see every moment according to where you‘re at. It‘s quite something to begin to really see, to begin to see with your eyes, and to begin to see with the possibilities that are there for you based on what you are. You have a cross and a profile and a design. You have a purpose in this life. These are not things you can just have or that you deserve. You have to have courage to get there.

(Post 7) Every Star is a Source of Neutrinos
The stars, aren't they something? Every single star is a source of neutrinos. And every star has the potential to be a force to organize and impact the consciousness field. Throughout all of our history we have had an intimate relationship with the stars. It doesn't matter what part of the globe your traditions are rooted to, when your ancestors looked to the sky they had names. The Dipper, the Great Bear, the Wagon, the Pleiades, they're mentioned in the Bible, they're mentioned in the Bhagavad Gita. Stars are a part of our consciousness.
The thing to recognize about those stars, because we have one right out here in our neighborhood, very, very close to us, it's the star that shines the light for all of us, our sun. And it is a neutrino factory. Over 70% of the three trillion neutrinos a second we receive we get from the sun. We are filters of the sun's consciousness, that is, the potential provided by the sun for consciousness. For most of our history we worshipped it. At our most primitive we understood in a way. Now, most human beings just lie on the beach and get a tan and forget what they're taking in other than the ultraviolet rays.
And it's not just our sun, this star. One of the most fantastic journeys I had last year in teaching Rave Cosmology, I had an eleven-week program where I was looking at the way in which the history of civilization going back to the earliest Sumerians that this history of civilization was determined by certain stars and their positions. The most fascinating thing is that the moment that we began to look upward we began to create the macrocosm of our microcosm. We began to explore beyond ourselves. We began to open up our consciousness. And when you understand that the neutrino is something that is naturally a by-product of a star's life, this is the thing that allows us to see that we are in fact taking in from those particular forces unique aspects of consciousness.
It's so interesting when you think about the modern life, particularly the modern urban life that because all the light that is being created in the environment, how few people get to see the stars any more. How few human beings actually have contact with the stars any more. But they're a wonder because they are all part of a larger evolutionary program in which all the crystals of consciousness are aligned together in this vast Dark Matter organization of the totality.

(Post 8) Have Fun, Enjoy the Ride, and Watch the Movie
And when I say that to you, I don't want that to be depressing. The fact that you can even know that is something to celebrate, because it's the start. It's the start in the beginning to see it in yourself. To see it at work within you, because this is how you transform your life, this is how you transform your awareness. The more you see clearly that it's all conditioning, the easier it is to let go of it, after all.
It's time to have some fun and enjoy the ride and watch the movie. It's time to find out what it's like to be you, because this is one of the great mysteries on the planet, isn't it? All of these human beings that have never had an opportunity to live out the possibility of what they are, to make decisions as themselves; don't know who these people are. You don't know yourself; wait-and-see. I didn't know I was Ra Uru Hu, after all. Life is full of surprises when you discover your nature. And you can only do that when you let go of your mind running your life.
And it doesn't matter whether you're awake or you're asleep. You have to see that this is what we are. We are open to conditioning. And because we're open to conditioning we are susceptible to its manipulation. We have to be. The beauty of having your own authority is that it is your own authority. My life isn't about rejecting conditioning. My life is about having the authority to know what conditioning I like and what conditioning I don't like. But none of that is changing the way in which I act or think, because I operate out of my own authority. So I can experience the world that I live in because the world is nothing but conditioning. It's just about being aware. And you can only be aware when your mind is free; so free your mind: Strategy and Authority.

(Post 9) Taking Advantage of Your Mechanics
I am neither this nor that. I am a dualist. I'm not a moralist. It's not about whether the way existence is organized is good or not. It doesn't matter. I'm a mechanic. Once I have the plans it doesn't matter what they want to do. I have my way. This is the magic. It is the magic of what mechanics brings. It brings you this incredible opportunity to be able to take advantage of it, what is Strategy and Authority, but taking advantage of your mechanics. It's just common sense. You don't put gasoline in a diesel engine. So if you're a Generator don't go around initiating. It's just common sense.
It's just understanding the mechanics and taking advantage of it. All that does is allow these forms in that 15/5 metaphor to just flow so you can see, so you can begin to understand, not about the mundane things. Not about how you're going to do this or that or get this or that done; it happens. It all happens. You're here to see it. And you're here to communicate your awareness. It's called outer authority. It's what you get from me. This is what we're here for, for each other. The moment that we can disengage from the way in which our not-self manipulates our activities and our communication we can begin to share with each other communication that is interesting and stimulating and exciting.
The crystals of consciousness are really amazing. It's everything, after all. And here we are inside of this shroud, this vast array of Personality Crystals where your Personality Crystal came from. And when you die, if your body isn't disturbed for 72 hours it's precisely where your Personality Crystal will go back. And it is this shroud of Personality Consciousness that every single moment on this plane is influencing every single cell in your body. It's really amazing.

(Post 10) Trust in Your Vehicles Consciousness
But you have to trust in the form consciousness, because if you don't let go, if you don't allow your vehicle to run your life, you're lost in the old model. There will be no transformation; there will be no awakening. It‘s not possible. You can‘t get the there with your mind, all that stuff you think about, that you think may be important, all that stuff you ponder about, the this and that, what you think you could, might, should, would, and could do; the insanity of all of that.
I know the beauty of the mind. The mind is an incredible thing. I love it deeply. But I only love it because I am at peace with this process of being a nine-centered being, allowing my design, allowing my vehicle's consciousness to guide me, to free me from the burden of the uselessness and stupidity of the mind trying to run the life, what pain it brings. Each indecision, each lack of clarity, each moment of folly, and the price is that everyone pays for them. The things you do because you think you should. We‘re stuck in this world, in this model. It‘s not going to go away. There is no magic wand. This is not messianic knowledge. There is no such thing.
There are always a percentage of beings at any time on this plane who have a possibility on their fractal line to be able to meet whatever the possibilities are of their time. It's the grace that is there for you, this possibility to be able to live out the magic of what it is to be this form, because the moment you surrender to the experiment is the moment you begin to see. How blind human beings are, how unaware; they do not see. And you have to be in the right place to see. And the mind doesn't know where that is, can't know where that is, will never know where that is.

(Post 11) The Way Out of Homogenization
I want to take you to a special place. I want to take you to the place of understanding the depth and intensity of homogenization and organization and manipulation. And at the same time be able to show you your way out. Your way out; everybody has a way out. It's through themselves. We have a vanity on this plane because of the rise of the seven-centered being, we have this enormous vanity that we control the world and we control our destiny. We control nothing. We control absolutely nothing, nothing, nothing.
This wonderful channel, the 15/5, is present in all forms of life. It is universal. It is the flow. And it is about understanding that all of existence is patterns and movement. It's all about patterns and movement. We are all here in this vast, vast movement. There is nothing truly we can do about that, any more than I am able to turn the tide of homogenization on this plane, nobody can. And yet, through knowledge, through awareness, it's possible. It is possible to step outside of the control mechanisms. Not within the form; the form lives on the plane.
What Human Design gives you is the ability to allow this form to fit in perfectly to this plane, to eliminate resistance, to be able to move without fear so that one can step outside. Perhaps you thought I was just playing or teasing. What I said that if you think about it within the context of Dark Matter what these crystals are made of, they are not human. It doesn't matter.
And when I say they are not human, I do not mean alien in the sense of television. Our crystals belong to the universal whole, whatever that is. We are the passengers. This is all for us. It is all for us. Fifteen billion years of movement and mutation is all for us so that we can experience this level of self-reflected consciousness because of the advantages of this form.
You have to let go. You have to let go of thinking you're in charge because you are not. You have to let go. You have to begin to see that everything is a mechanism and that the only way that you find your way on a plane that is mechanistic is that you find your mechanical way so you can step outside of the mechanism here in the consciousness. Everybody is stuck in the same place.

(Post 12) Let Go to Find Your Truth
The thing about the nine-centered being is that we have this possibility that each and every one of us can establish a unique performance. It's what we're here for. This is what the pleasure of this is about. This is where the glory is in this movie. It's not about being lost in the direction of the script. You're not here to be nailed on your cross. We're here to be passengers in the movie; deep, deep, deep, deep down as the neutrinos are pouring through the crystals. The program is written so deeply. All you have to do is let go to have it. All you have to do is let go to find your truth. All you have to do is surrender and the surrender isn't physical. It's here.
The only thing that's ever going to stand in the way of you and the possibilities of what is there for you in your life is your mind, there isn't anything else. As long as you're a prisoner of it, you're never going to see the magic that's underneath. You're never going to see it realized in the flesh. It's a delight, after all, to fill out the role and make it your own. And you don't do anything. I don't do anything. I'm not a doer. I'm a watcher. It happens. It all happens. It's about how aware you are.
The moment you take your mind out of the controlling game is the moment your awareness leaps. It's the moment you slowly begin to take advantage of what's really there for you. Are you in the right place? Can you see? Because if you cannot see on this plane this is going to be a very, very disappointing movie, because it's all about seeing. It's all about what your perspective is going to be. It's about the possibility of what your awareness can be. It's about whether or not you're going to be correct. It starts with Strategy and Authority.
But there are many things. Today underneath you see that there is this orientation. We're being programmed at the deepest level to be in the right place and yet the distance from that Base to finally get up to the script, that if it doesn't get across the barrier of Color to the line, if it doesn't get across as a frequency that is pure, you don't get the orientation, you don't get the cognition. You don't. You just get what other people get—the confusion and the pain, the terrible deep unfairness of the nature of the world, all that stuff.
It's what I talked to you about when we were looking at evolution. We're not here to be the ones that stand at the top of the gene pool and say, hey, we're the conquerors. Those were our ancestors. The fact that they dominated the food chain, that that was their trip, that was our ancestors. And because they operated out of that strategy, everything about their lives was competition, winners and losers, hierarchies, no end to them. It truly is not what you're here for. You are not here to spend your life worried about your survival. You'll never find your orientation that way. You'll never get your cognition.

(Post 13) Everything is Frequency
Again, when you're dealing with dark matter we don't really understand how that matter operates. In looking at the crystal, what I want you to understand is the process, and out of the process to understand something very simple, very beautiful and very profound. Everything is frequency. This table, as solid as it may be or seen in the illusion is just compressed frequency. It isn't anything else. Everything is frequency, everything. And everything is always, always in movement.
If you take a microscope and you go down into this table, and it's an electron microscope so you can go way down into this table, the substructure of this. And you get down to that atomic level everything is going (buzzing sound). Everything is moving and flying and whizzing. It's all frequency. It's frequency upon frequency upon frequency upon frequency. Everything is frequency.
In the Bible, that beautiful opening: In the beginning was the word—sound, frequency. This is what it's about. It's what it's always been about. All we do in the way in which we are conscious is that we define different levels of frequency in different ways. So for us, for example, music is different than Color. That's just for us. That's not true, in a sense, it's simply not true. It's just another frequency. It's another way of looking at frequency. But it's all frequency. Everything is frequency in the end.
This is the way we're programmed. This is what this thing is. My box, this is a frequency. Everything else you imagine about it, that it may be solid or bones and veins and this and that, forget it. That's just the way in which our brain is designed to see it. I think that people always miss the joke. We're set up to see things the way we're set up to see them, period.
I don't think that we would be comfortable if we saw nothing but the frequencies. Aside from that it would be very confusing because there would be frequency everywhere. It's like seeing. We think we see. But what do we see? We don't see the neutrinos, the three trillion a second passing through here; we don’t see them. We don't see those wonderful microwaves as we have the machine on. We don't see lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of things. We live in a deep domain, an ocean of frequency. It's nothing but frequency. This is the way we're programmed.

(Post 14) The Beauty of Being a Human Being
But I take great pleasure in being in form and aware on this plane. You get to see what it's all about. You get to see the beauty of what it is to be a human being. It's beautiful. It's not the horror and suffering everybody sees out there on the plane. It's not the travail, the weight of dealing with the material plane and all the things that you have to deal with in this life. It isn't. And regardless, despite the fact that you look out there in this world and you see all of that, it's not what it's about for us.
I'm glad that it's an end game. If it weren't for the end game we wouldn't have this knowledge. Without this knowledge there would be no freedom, there would be no way to escape what all of this brings to most of humanity, no way of seeing the beauty, no way of really enjoying being here for the ride, for what it is to be us, to be able to sit back as a passenger in these forms and just to be able to take the ride, because it's a beautiful ride. And you can't know that until you can live it, until you can live it as yourself, until you can live it with your own authority as your guide, not being ruled by others, not being caught up in that all the time.
It’s wonderful that we can see all these things, that we can know these things. It's wonderful; but, so what. I've been saying this to my students all along. I could teach Human Design every day, I have been for 20 years, and keep on teaching it every day for another 20 years because there's so much stuff to talk about and there are so many fascinating things to see and it's great and it's stimulating and it's wonderful. But it's not what it's about.
It's about what you do with your life. That's all. That's what it's about. It's what you do with your life. And it's so easy from our context, from our mechanics, it's so straightforward: Strategy and Authority. Find your way. Live out what it is to be human, because we haven't met it yet. We don't know. Nobody has been able to teach us this. Nobody gives you an example. You have to find it yourself. You find it yourself through being your own authority and as long as you are your own authority it doesn't matter what the hell is going on.

(Post 15) The Quantum
When we’re looking at Design and Personality everybody thinks that’s the story. Our talk of Profiles and nodes, and this planet and that planet, what do you have here and there, and what line do you have, what’s the line say, what’s the information about. But the most important thing when you first look at the bodygraph is to forget all that because you’re looking at something else. You’re not looking at data. You’re looking at the way in which the quantum forms, the way in which the graph emerges.
The moment that you enter into this bodygraph is the moment you enter into a domain that is dominated not by the Design and the Personality, but is dominated by the Monopole and the way in which this illusion is held together. And it is the openness in the illusion that drives the whole movie. It drives it, it gives it its direction; it’s what Monopole does. It gives us our direction.
Of course, you can see the direction of this being. You can see what they want. You can see what’s going to move them. And it has nothing to do with their Design or their Personality activations. And you can see the way they’re going to think. You can see that they’ve got something to prove, they want to be certain about their concepts, they think about things that do not matter, they really want to get it over with in a hurry, they want to move it along. Then you add all of that to the aspects of the split that’s defining their deepest attractive desire field and you can forget about looking at their Design, this stuff that’s activated.
Everything has to be seen in perspective. It’s one of the lessons that I’ve learned in my process beginning last year in simply looking at the crystals and understanding the crystals. The first thing you get to see is that’s great that you can understand them, but that’s not the bodygraph. It’s not the holistic life. It is an ingredient; they’re ingredients. And all of those ingredients are stirred into the pot by the Monopole and you get the bodygraph.
When you see Design and Personality within the bodygraph, you have to see very clearly its place, that its dynamic and value as a force of differentiation is only something that can emerge if the being is correct. There is no other way. It isn’t to say that if this being is incorrect that they’re not going to have their communal influence. You bet they will. It’s in their Design. But that communal influence is driven by the splits and the not-self mind which means that whatever their communal influence is going to be, it has nothing to do with what is correct, and everything to do with being conditioned, and being deeply conditioned.
I’ve mentioned this many times before that when I began my professional work as an analyst in the early 90's it was horrific for me. I would look at people’s Designs and look at their Design and Personality and see this extraordinary potential for differentiation.
Every human being is unique. There is all this incredible potential to fulfill purpose, to live out the potential of one’s cross and one’s Design, to find one’s true inner Authority. And what did I see? The people who sat down beside me, all I saw was the openness in their Design. Their minds caught up in their whole not-self trip. The 50% of them that were Split Definitions lost in chasing the holy grail of the gate they don’t have. Beings that were so deeply homogenized that telling them they have this Personality and that kind of Design, well, it takes time.

(Post 16) One Person at a Time
Human Design is interested in only one thing; one person at a time. There isn't anything else. You will discover by the time we get to the end of this process that if you want to you can get very depressed thinking about the level of conditioning that is here on this plane. Everything that I do is to allow people to see the conditioning whether you're awake, whether you're asleep, whether you're in a group, whether you're here, whether you're there, it's everywhere. And the power of that conditioning is directly related to whether or not you're a sucker for it on the mental plane and if you're a sucker for it on the mental plane you're lost.
I live in the world of maia. I love the maia. I live in a world that is dominated by not-self consciousness. And I know that there is nothing that I can truly do about that. But then again, I live first and foremost for the purity of what it is to be me, to have a life that is correct, as a Manifestor to be at peace with my life. And to be able to enjoy what it is to be here on this plane and to be able to see to the best of my potential. And in that, to be able to do what I can for those that I can do something for; nothing more, nothing less.
But it is the same for you. If you're going to make a difference in your life you have to see that all those things that have been influencing you, all of them. They don't necessarily have anything to do with you. You're going to have to start from scratch. You're going to have to see what it is truly to be you. You're going to have to start making decisions as yourself in order to see who you are and where you are on this plane. And to leave behind the past, to put it in the history books, to put it in its place, to see that the seven-centered being was a seven-centered being; good for them. They had their run. It has long been over. And now it's time for our run.

(Post 17) The Natural Order
I told you at the beginning about my comments about Lao Tzu and the losing of the natural order. It's what I find so fascinating about Variable; the sixteen Variables represent the natural order. In other words, they represent the way of seeing the way in which nine-centered humanity was intended to be organized, the way in which consciousness was intended to be organized at the highest levels of awareness, the way in which the fractal relationships between all human beings were established. Variable is an extraordinary thing.
Of course, the components that we have been looking are the components that are the bedrock for the transformation of mind, for the transformation of the consciousness itself to bring us the award of awareness. It appears, and it has appeared so for 21 years, that I am deeply dedicated to the form principle as a teacher. Well, I am; but, I do have my ulterior motives. I recognize with absolute clarity that the body is the life. There is no question. And as such I am a fool not to respect it and to give it the attention that it deserves.
But the reality is that I do not do that for the form in and of itself. I do that for what the form brings me. And when I say me, I mean the passenger, the Personality Crystal that is here to experience consciousness. This is what it's all about. It's about the experiencing of the consciousness and you only get there through the form. And the form just isn't here. It's all around us.
Here I sit on another island. It's all around us, with the moisture of the sea literally everywhere in the air. To be in the right environment not just simply nurtures you and your own well-being, but nurtures everything. It's so important for us. It's like never leaving the womb, because you never really do. You go from the internal womb to the external womb, it's the same movie. It's just another environment. You're just trading environments. And it's just as dense as the previous one, by the way. It's just we're limited in the way we experience it, but nonetheless.

(Post 18) Reading the Chart is an Art
I think I first started teaching when I was about 10. I mean that seriously. It just simply was something that came natural to me. And I’ve watched all my life through a career of being a teacher, and I was a teacher of many different environments, universities, public high schools in North America and private schools. I’ve seen the inside out of educational institutions. You can walk into a staff room of any educational institution and you can look around and you will see those who can and those who can’t. Those who can’t, it’s not because they don’t care or that they don’t love their profession or they don’t like the children or on and on and on and on. About 80% of teaching is art. And the rest of it is preparation, however that works. But it’s an art.
Reading a chart is not pure science. If it were a pure science, I already years ago would have had a computer program that pumped out your analysis. You can’t. It’s one of the things that interesting. Yes, you can get all the data. The talking bodygraph is a beautiful example of having all the information but not having a reading. Having all the information but having no synthesis, having all the information but having no perspective.
There are all kinds of people who can quote the information, but that’s not the point. We are a holistic illusion, if I can put it that way. We are the sum total of our formulas. And we have formulas that indicate what we are, and we have formulas that indicate what the not-self is. We have keynotes for everything. But to be able to use keynotes is not science; it’s art. And it takes practice and it takes time, because it is about the freedom that comes in the analysis of a bodygraph, the freedom that has to be there when one looks at it and explores it. Of course, this is not science.

(Post 19) Humans are Designed to be Attracted to What We are Not
We come to one of those places in looking at the basics of Human Design where we really come to the source of all the dilemmas, the problems, all of the things that make it so difficult for human beings to be able to live out their nature or even be aware of the possibility they could live out their nature. And if I guess if there is a villain to the peace, and there is always this kind of duality I guess, then we’re going to have to blame it on the genes. It’sreally is really where the dilemma is for us.
I think one of the things that is evident to me about the evolutionary process of the form principle is, in understanding the underlying themes of the form principle, to develop the potential for cognition. In other words, the goal of the form principle is to be able to create a viable form that can demonstrate self-reflected consciousness. The dilemma is always the form. That is, it is a very complex thing to build, it is a very complex thing to manage and the fact of the matter is that in order to be viable in this kind of form, that rather than being focused on the potential of what is possible, that one is forced to deal with the consequences of being a bio-form.
And being a bio-form with a fundamental basic genetic imperative, that is, the binary survival imperative, the survival of the individual, which is essential obviously, and the survival of the individual long enough and healthy enough so it is able to procreate, then ultimately the secondary survival is the survival of the species itself. In other words, everything about being a bio-form begins with being not alone, the need to reproduce. And the need to reproduce leads to certain fundamental qualities. That is, we are a social creature. And as a social creature we have interactions, interconnections that take place all the time.
We are designed to be deeply attracted to what we are not. This is the story in a nutshell if there ever was one. We are designed to be attracted to what we are not. It fulfills the imperative genetically. We have a dilemma with the gene pool. The only thing that makes a gene pool viable is when you bring together different parts in that equation that is going to lead to the creation to something new. So, we are inextricably caught up with the openness that is there in our bodygraph, and we are driven to connect. Everything is about connection. And for the unaware mind, the very act of connecting is exciting, pleasurable, habitual, addictive and ultimately a trap. Oh, it is attractive, it is juicy.

(Post 20) Human Design is the Doorway to Understanding Your Potential
Throughout human history there has been this struggle to try to find "the way." There have been so many people that point to this thing and that thing and the other thing. There have been so many paths and so many ways and so many teachers. And the net result of all of that is that none of it fulfilled its promises. It's the magic of what the knowledge is. The knowledge brings you something that is just basically very, very fundamental. It is your doorway to understanding your potential. And when we're dealing with the surface we're dealing with is a realignment, it's a cleansing process, it's the way in which you remove yourself from the influences of the past that dominate your present and the possibility of whatever your future is going to be.
You have to see how important the surface is in the sense of breaking away from the mind's control over your decision making process. As long as the mind is going to run your life you really are going to suffer. There is no question about it. And you're not going to be able to gain access to what the substructure of the line brings, because it brings the true potential of differentiation. Think about the basic underlying construct of this knowledge. Its goal is to empower uniqueness. That's its goal. Its goal is not to homogenize, not to create groups, not to create followers, not to create any of these things. The only thing that is there is the goal to empower uniqueness.
What we refer to as differentiation, every human being is born with the potential to differentiate. In other words, it's the potential to truly be distinctively unique. Unique unfortunately is a word that's been hammered to death in the world over the last 25, 30 years. It's been hammered enough that there are fools around who think you can say something is more unique than something else. It galls.
To really understand the meaning of unique is to have a spiritual epiphany, truly to understand what that means, to understand that is everybody's right, to understand that is everybody's potential, to understand that in every single human being lies the possibility to be able to perfect what is their unique construct. That's the whole point. The point is the expression of one's unique authority, to be the master of your life, to be the master of your universe, your world or whatever.
The moment that you begin to operate correctly, the moment that you transfer the decision making process away from your mind to your Strategy and Authority is the moment that you can begin the process of transformation. And transformation is something in terms of steps that you take in a process. And yet, each of the steps you take in that process are uniquely your own. This is what substructure represents.
Substructure represents this incredible journey down into the imprinting, down to the very, very core of one's imprinting. The possibilities that exist in any activation—a bunch of people sitting around who know Human Design and they're suddenly talking about the 49th gate and somebody says, oh I have that and somebody says, I have that, boy, they don't have the same gate. And when they say I have the same line as you it's not the same.
You go underneath because underneath every single line is a Color and beneath the Color is a Tone and beneath the Tone is a Base. There are over one thousand variations for each line. And think of all the various activations that you have in your design and the thousands and thousands and thousands of combinations that are there.
Your uniqueness can be mapped. Your distinctness from the other, the beauty and possibility that lies within you—it's like those people that are so enthralled by incarnation crosses. They think they're holy, for God's sake. They're not. They may turn out to be the greatest joke of all because an incarnation cross is nothing without a being that's fulfilling its purpose, because that's what it points to and indicates. And it is a unique process, a unique one.

(Post 21) Let Go of Trusting in the Authority of Others
There is no way that this is the kind of thing that we're ever really going to get to see. It's not the way things work. And in the end Human Design is really not interested in seeing that in the sense that it's not our point. The point is just you. It really is. It isn't anybody else. Every single human being that can break through, that can grab hold of the serendipity, their good fortune to be in that right place at the right time, to meet such a thing and to be able to break the hold that the program has held on you, to begin to experience what it is like to be correct. This is an incredible thing.
It's this whole movement in each of us towards our signature and the beauty that is there for us. But it begins with understanding that we are different. And it begins with understanding something else. It's about time that you stop trusting. I had a friend of mine who always reminded me that there was a "rust" in "trust." I think it's very important to let go of trusting in the authority of others.
You're going to find that this is something that is going to shock you. How many things and how many forces and how many beings and how many situations have authority over you. And I'm not saying in saying this, by the way, that all of those situations are things that you reject. No, no. If something is coming at you and it's correct for you and you respond, react, whatever your process is and it's correct for you, fine. But for most human beings it doesn't work that way. They just bow down.
I don't bow down. You're not here to bow down. We're here to live in the grace and dignity of what it is to be these things; they're really special. This is a fantastic form. It provides the most extraordinary platform for self-reflected consciousness. And we are gifted with this way of being able to see. This is not about a seven centered mystical promise. This is a road map. It's right there. It's all laid out piece by piece, section by section, information upon information, data upon data, anything you need to know about what it is to be you and how you can be you, how you can remove yourself from the hooks of the not-self. That's the difference.
You look at all of seven-centered history and they longed for that. That's what all beings want, after all, is to be able to fulfill their potential, to live with grace on this plane. They were given a lot of strategic manipulation. They were told that the rewards would come later. We're here for the reward now, not later. There's nothing to do later. You take the software out of the box and the program is over, the movie is done.

(Post 22) The Emergence of the Solar Plexus Awareness
This emergence of Solar Plexus is really the whole story that we've been looking at over our journey. What we're really looking at is that in our transitional form the potential of Solar Plexus awareness this is what it's all about. But it isn't like it's for us. When you think about it, the splenic center was all Neanderthal. Neanderthal's glory was their Spleen. And then you get the seven centered being and the glory is the Ajna Center. That's the real glory—mind, manipulation of the world, blah, blah, blah.
Now you get to the rave and they're going to have Solar Plexus awareness. They're going to be very, very different from us and we will never as humans have access to this level of it. One of the most interesting things in my journey as a teacher is what is possible in terms of the knowledge of Rave Psychology to understand what is not well understood is the emergence of this different kind of perceptive ability, or cognitive capacity, what I discussed with you in terms of the left-ness and the right-ness, the strategic and the receptive.
We're not the past and we're not the future. But we are in many ways a synthesis of both what the past has left us and what the future promises. My work, for example, with people that are right, in the sense that they are right-minded, to be able to help them understand how they need to change the way in which they relate to their mental experience on this plane because they can tap into other resources. And the resources they're tapping into, the right cognitive potentials, those right cognitive potentials in a human can bring an additional and very special quality to their awareness, but it's not yet what the full potential of that Solar Plexus awareness is going to be when it arrives within the context of the rave and the conscious Penta.
We're at the end of this movie. And the only thing that we're good for at this point in terms of the Program, please understand that, that in terms of the Program the only thing we're good for is to be able to give birth to what's coming. That's what we're good for. That's what we're being programmed for. It's something to grasp.

(Post 23) Jump Out of the Box
You have to jump out of the box. That is what Human Design is. It's out-of-the box, it's not seven-centered. It's not the old crap and it's not all the old ways, and it certainly isn't the way of mind. It isn't. It's the way of the body. It's the way of the form. This is the life. It comes back to the same thing over and over again. It does. This is such an easy way to bypass all the dilemmas. It still fascinates me.
When I was first given the knowledge my assumption was that the moment I met a Generator I could create an awake person just like that. It's so obvious; it's so simple, right? Don't initiate, just respond. I've said "don't initiate, just respond" to Generators 10,000 times, 20,000 times, 30,000 times.
The knowledge is beautiful. The mechanics are deeply revealing. But the mind is a very, very, very powerful thing. It's running your life, it is controlling you. And it's all about fear. This dream creature behind me tries to scare me every day. It does; that's what they do. This is what the not-self lives on, it lives on fear. It lives on fear relative to whatever the conditioning happens to be, relative to its openness and what it thinks is missing, all of this is just fear. And because the mind itself knows that it doesn't know it becomes so stressed, caught up, twisted, sick, all kinds of things, whizzing around.
This is the great battle. I can go on day after day after day and explain to you the mechanics of all the different programming agencies layer by layer by layer by layer. You have to see there is no out in this, this is what we are. This is how we integrate to everything. We are nothing but receptors integrating. It's like that image that arises as you move up higher and higher and higher. Eventually all you see is a little blue ball; everything is just deeply connected together. It's a homogenized world. With all of these creatures blindly running around in it being programmed and doing precisely what the program wants them to do.
And it's not like the program is a consciousness. It isn't. It's not like it's God saying, okay, my way. It isn't. It is a program. It is a construct. It is something that has evolved over time. It is heartless. It does not care about you or me or the other. That's not the point. It has no point in that sense; it's just movement. We are bound by things that in fact do not have the power to hold us. It does not have the power to hold me because I am not the vehicle. I am the passenger. This is what we are.

(Post 24) The Domain of the Monopole
But, let's go back to the Monopole. It holds you together in that illusion of separateness and it moves you along in your line of trajectory. This is what the driver does. This is what life is all about. So what the Monopole is doing is that it's holding together these two elements. It holds together these elements through what's known as an attraction frequency. It holds these elements together and it creates this illusion that is us and it moves us along in our line of geometry. It's the Monopole that structures existence. It structures existence.
I remember when I first began on this journey. I designed the first charts and they were very large. They were on A11 paper or something like that. They had two wheels and the BodyGraph in the center, the Design wheel on the left—as it is here, as a matter of fact—and the Personality wheel on the right, and of course, the BodyGraph in the center. You can see very clearly that the Design Crystal is on one side and the Personality Crystal is on another side in wheels. That is, being where the database is going to influence the way in which they filter. But the moment you get to the BodyGraph, the only thing that is there for that BodyGraph that's the Monopole's domain. This illusion is the Monopole's domain.
This holding me together, giving me my direction—when I say that it's there to give you your trajectory in life, understand that's everything. We know that from the beginning everything is moving, everything is about where you are; everything. And in these self-reflected, self-conscious vehicles that this movement is something that an illusion of control, we have to be so careful because if you do not operate correctly the line that you take distorts your frequency. That Monopole that holds you together in the illusion of your separateness, it's all frequency. When you're not correct, when you're homogenized your frequency is not correct. It means you're not able to tap into the resources that are there either in the Design or in the Personality.
At the very core of what is going to coordinate your existence, what's going to coordinate your life, what is going to align your Personality potential in that life, what's going to bring together these Dark Matter crystals is the Dark Matter Monopole, the structure. We are caught in a structure; we are caught in the web that we cannot see. It is something to grasp; all of these beings who think they are in charge of their lives. You'll see as we move along, the way in which this construct, this crystal construct, this Dark Matter structuring forms the background of the program that impacts the way in which we move through our lives.
Ah, duality. I love it. This is the way everything works, this and that juxtaposed, whoosh, magic. But you see, what came with that revelation was a complete view of the underlying mechanics at every single level and when you see how something works you can take advantage of it. It's what Human Design is all about, the advantage that has been taken from understanding the mechanics. The great struggle in Human Design is that the world is filled with the conditioned, the not-self. So much effort is spent in breaking down all that conditioning. It's a lot of work, but it's something to understand about us, it's something to be very, very clear about, do not get lost identifying with your mundane existence, get lost in your mind trip, because you'll never get to see what this is all about. You won't.

(Post 25) Strategy and Authority Leads to the Correct PHS and Environment
So my emphasis is not just simply on the catalyst of Strategy and Authority and dietary regimen, because if you do that for your first seven years in Design, what it's really going to do is speed up that process for you. In other words, it is going to give you that possibility of at least beginning to establish what the necessary perspective for the transformation of awareness is, because ultimately that's what it's about. So, this establishment of that correct environment and that establishment of the dietary regimen are things that can only be a result of the following a Strategy and Authority, and a Strategy and Authority that has led you into the educational phenomenon that gives you the information you need.
It‘s one of those things about the moment you get Strategy and Authority, you can begin this process of seeing clearly what aspects are things you can embrace. If you‘re a Generator and somebody says to you, "Are you ready for your dietary regimen?" and you go, "uh-uh", (no) well, you‘re not. I know a lot Generators where this has happened. And a couple of years later it becomes an "uh-huh" (yes).
Again, everything about the development of those of us who have all been conditioned is it has to do with your Strategy and Authority. This is the only thing you're going to be able to trust to align you to what the possibilities are for you. And the most profound possibility in terms of Right-ness is the establishment of your environment. Without that, there is no way to really transform the consciousness itself.

(Post 26) Definition is the Student and Openness is the Courses in Life.
It’s one of my earliest descriptions of the difference between what is defined in us and what is open, that what’s defined in us is the student and what is open are the courses that we take in this life. And if you look at someone who is open emotionally, they are here to take emotional courses. They’re here to learn about them. That very openness that can be a curse the moment you want what’s there, is an openness that becomes the roots of wisdom the moment that you see what’s there.
I’m undefined emotionally. In the years before my experience and when I was notself and unaware, my undefined emotional system was a deep curse in my life and in horrendous pain. Not just for me, but the by-product of my relationships with others. I was constantly rising and falling and amplifying on the wave of other being’s emotions. Not being clear, not operating as myself. It caused a lot of pain.

(Post 27) Inner Authority
So, Authority, Inner Authority is something that is one of the bedrocks of this knowledge, to have your Strategy, to have your Inner Authority, to understand your Definition. All of this allows you to be able to see yourself in your bodygraph. And it’s something to do, to see you in the bodygraph, to see the you that’s hardwired, that’s ready to fulfill its purpose, to see the you that is vulnerable and open and what that leads to. To see what clearly is your Authority, where it comes from, why it’s there, what you need to know about it, and then just simply to live it. That’s what this knowledge is all about. It’s about Living Your Design. It’s only then that the quantum emerges. It’s only then that your uniqueness emerges, the beauty of what it is to be you, the beauty of what it is to have an Authority that truly you can trust. Trust that it is going to give you what is correct for you, a life that is yours, decisions that are yours. And all of that opens up the possibility for the transcendence of your mind, the ability of your mind to be able to let go of the mundane and to enter into the domain of the passenger, the true passenger, to experience the beauty of what it is to be here as you.
The themes we have looked at today, this is Human Design, your Definition leading to what is your Type, your Strategy and your Authority. You don’t need anything else. These are the basic truths; this is what sets you on the path to being able to live as yourself and not by anybody else’s influence, but in your own experimentation, in your own empirical experimentation, step-by-step verification. The clearer you are about what’s there in your chart and what’s not there in your chart, the easier it is for you to verify your process and each step of verification and strength to your capacity to stay with the process.
As I say at the end of all my opportunities to teach this knowledge: Follow your Strategy and Authority. That’s as basic as it gets.

(Post 28) Furniture
I used to make this joke about furniture. I had this experience many years ago as a magazine publisher. I was doing a shoot. The photographer was doing some scene and he called to his assistant that he needed more furniture. I couldn't imagine what he was talking about. In came a couple of models and he placed them in the scene, and I thought how horrendous, what a term.
But to really understand something, the moment you're not differentiating or discerning based on your Authority, how you connect to the world around you, that's the moment you're automatically furniture. You're the stage set. You become the background stage set because you're doing all those things that are set up for it. You don't have to be engaged in the confusion and doubt at all. You don't. You'll see it. It's all around.

(Post 29) Strategy and Authority Guides You Correctly
This is the most incredible thing about form consciousness. When you tap into your Strategy and Authority, you're tapping into the navigator, this ability to be able to move you through the plane correctly. We are objects in space moving, all of us moving. Everything is moving. It‘s a dance. And every decision you make in this life is a navigation. If you make decisions with your mind you're always lost, you‘re never, ever in the right place. You can‘t be. And there's no fulfilling of purpose until you can navigate this plane. It‘s not about what you think you think you think you think. It‘s how you live here.
Life at its best is the mundane made beautiful. If you're expecting awakening to be a big Hollywood presentation, you're barking up the wrong fantasy. It's not like that. It‘s about reaching your signature, every type has a signature. It‘s about your signature becoming your life. It‘s about the Generator who is truly satisfied. That‘s about as awake as you can get. And you can only get that through the body, you can‘t get there through the mind, only through the body. There is no other way; only through the body.
What the map says is look, it‘s very simple. We have these mechanisms. Everybody has these mechanisms, these inner authorities, the magic of what it is to be able to have a map, to be able to understand that there is this place within you that you can trust. When‘s the last time you ever trusted anything? To trust in yourself, to trust that you can navigate this plane without your mind? That‘s quite a stamp. It's the first step in beginning to discover that you can love yourself. It might have to start off with sort of, kind of, liking yourself. But it's on the way. You have to meet that being in order to love them. You have to see the perfection of what it is to be you. You have to see what uniqueness really means. Not as a concept, but what it means as your life.
What I've noticed over many, many years now is that those who approach this the most radically are the ones who really get to see it. You really have to take a hold of this. This is all you get. You think there's going to be another chance? No. This is it. Anyone who cares to discover can look deeply into this in relationship to themselves, to others, to whatever. You can plow your way through this trying to find some loophole but there is none. There is only one thing to do and it‘s to radically surrender to an experiment. It‘s what it is. You‘re not sheep. I'm not here to be followed. You‘re here to have your own trip, your own movie, your own wonder, but you can only get that through the experiment of being you.

(Post 30) Nodes Paint the Neighborhood of Your Experience
Ok, so look, let's take a look at a couple of things. Yesterday I began in trying to focus you on how to look at the Nodes. I think this is something that really needs reinforcing to really understand how to use them. I've tried a number of ways over the years to create a metaphor for this. My most recent metaphor is that this is a neighborhood because it's very physical. It's like the background in a scene in a film and the background tells you everything, actually. The background frames what to expect. There are certain backgrounds that you immediately think, aha, something is going to happen here that's not good. There are other backgrounds that tell you right away that this is interesting; this looks very kind of intellectual, nouveau riche, this or that, blah, blah,blah.
In other words, when you're looking at the Nodes, they are painting the environment in the background of your experience. It is that set, it's a set. It's even better to understand it as a set and even more than that to understand that set is not just the physical buildings but the people who live there. You want to make a movie and you want to show a street where your character is going to go down that street to somebody's house. Now, it's not enough that you simply have the street there and you have some parked cars. What you're going to stick into that background is people, but they're just decoration. They’re decoration that adds to the quality of the environment.
For example, if the decoration looks like a gang of young hoodlums who are out to find a victim, you're going to feel very different about that environment no matter what the neighborhood looks like. In other words, what the Nodes really bring you; because again this is a much larger, and when I say larger it is a transpersonal imprint. It is coming from beyond what is the solar cell structure. So what we have is an environment that is more than just the physical environment. It's the people who give the environment its quality.
Also, just to complete that analogy for a moment, we move from the South Node to the North Node. This is a timing that's based on the Uranian cycle of 84 years. The halfway point in the Uranian cycle, and it depends because it's a different kind of orbit, your Uranian opposition is any time between the age of 38 and 44, approximately. This basically cuts the life in half in terms of the Uranian life.
So, what we're looking at is, I don't want you to see the South Node and the North Node as really being different from each other. After all, look at the gates. If you look at the gate and you look at their chops, you'll see they are exact mirrors of each other. They're so deeply related to each other that it's something to really understand about the Nodes. After all, the Nodes are in opposition and if you look at an opposition within the context of the hexagrams, you'll see that you're dealing with mirrors. So you're dealing with the same structure mirrored. Now, in this process you have what I like to call a long street that divides between north/south or east/west and it changes its name. Many big cities have these kinds of streets where at the south end it has one name and the north end of the street has another name, and that's basically what you're looking at with the Nodes.
But you're also looking at something else. It is only on the surface that the Magnetic Monopole holds us together in the illusion of our separateness. But in fact, we are a binary. Our Design and our Personality are very different. Our Design return begins 88° of Sun before the Personality return begins. They're very different from each other. The Personality environment, the environment that the Personality is attuned to is very different from the environment for the unconscious.

(Post 31) Characteristics
In this life process, in terms of the way in which we operate in analysis, we’re looking at a number of things in Design. Basically, the life is lost in what we call “characteristics”. The goal in life is to transcend characteristics and to find ones true role. Now, characteristics are the domain of the Bodygraph. In other words, when you look at your design, you’re looking at your characteristics, that is, your differentiated characteristics.
The whole challenge for you in your process, the only way in which you can leave or transcend the Bodygraph and approach your purpose correctly, is you have to deal with the characteristics. The whole theme of, and the teaching of, Human Design is that we teach strategy and authority in order for a being to come to grips with the power of characteristics in their life, and to ultimately be able to transcend them by operating correctly as themselves.
The reward for transcending your characteristics is that you find your role. One of my favorite analogies or metaphors is that I like to use the concept of the movie. If you’re looking at characteristics, what you’re really seeing are those beings who are in the frame of any scene, but have no part. In other words, they are simply characteristics. They may be loud or slow, they may be this or that, they may be characteristics but they don’t actually have a role. These are the kind of people who never say anything in a scene; they’re simply in the background.
But the moment you have, within the context of this metaphor of the movie, somebody who is more than characteristics, in other words they are given a role; it’s only when you have a role that purpose is possible. When you look at any frame of any film, when you look at the background characters, you cannot imagine what their purpose is. You can’t imagine their purpose because all you’re getting is characteristics; you’re not getting their role. And it is only through role that purpose can be achieved.

(Post 32) Watch the World Around You
It's not something you can believe from me. It's something that you have to experiment as I did. I sat there and I watched that moon and felt what it did to me. And one of the easiest things about the Program is that any given day that you look at the Program, don't just look at it in terms of yourself. Watch your world around you and you will see truly like puppets on a string to a point that you don't know whether to laugh or cry, that they will all play out the drama of any given day's Program and every day brings its drama with its nuances that move and slightly shift as we go in this dance around the wheel.
We're all just taking it in. And you cannot stop it. You cannot. I have an open emotional system; I can never stop the emotional wave from moving through me. It's not what this knowledge is about. But when I watch the moon impact me emotionally, for the first time in my life I was liberated. It was the first time I actually felt a sense of genuine freedom. As somebody with an undefined emotional system, I was constantly being conditioned by the emotional wave. My whole process was erratic because I was capable of distorting to great highs and great lows all of which led to a lot of chaos.
I ended up as the by-product of that really running away from so many things in this life, not facing them, not dealing with them, just turning my back on them, the avoidance of confrontation and truth that's part of anyone who has an open Solar Plexus. And in that moment in the survival of the madness of my experience to actually feel the impact of the moon in me, well, I understood something. I understood I wasn't an emotional being. I understood for the first time that I am a receptor of emotionality, but I was not in and of myself emotional. I didn't have a problem. I always thought I had a problem.
The Program is so distorting. The Program is always playing around with you. The last two years have had all kinds of activations impacting my emotional system, the Program turning on my emotions. But I know the mechanics. They're not mine. They belong to this instrument and the way in which this vehicle interacts with others. But it is not something that I am involved with because it's not something that determines whether I am going to do this or that.

(Post 33) Surrendering at the Mental Level
When you surrender at the mental level, you begin your journey. This is a journey, a journey of awareness. It is what we are here for. Everything else is just stimulation, what I call entertainment, entertainment to stimulate the awareness. It's the experience of being, the experience of existence, and it doesn't have to be a horror. The beauty of finally having the right frequency, being tuned is that you begin to be in harmony with the world around you. You begin to see through the veil that this is not just simply a place of horror and ugliness. But there's great beauty on this plane. There are great things here for us to experience in this life, aware, the bonds that are there for us, love, friendship, all of these things, but aware.
After all, the great gift of the aware human being is what they can share with the other, their outer authority, where mind finally has its place, what you get from me, my outer authority for you. It is the only time that my mind is of any value to me, because the moment that my mind stops doing this and stops doing my outer authority trip it's back to being mind. It's back to always dreaming that maybe, maybe, maybe it can get its authority back on the inside. Mind is mind is mind is mind.
It's been so long for me that it's just part of the entertainment. But it's something to grasp about how powerful it is. It's something to grasp that this is the only thing that stands between you and the transformation of your life. It's your mind and how you use it and whether you allow it to dictate your life or not; and then the magic of Color, Tone, Base, the magic of you, unique, differentiated. This is something that can then emerge.

(Post 34) The Investigator Looks for a Solid Foundation
The 1 is about—I guess the deepest goal the cognition has, and the goal is ‘if we can be secure, everything is possible.’ And oh, is that a deep truth? if we can be secure. I teach selflove.
I teach human beings that through this process, through the experiment you find, what you discover is that you can trust in your ability to navigate on this plane, that you can find within yourself a love that is very special. It is not something that human beings have. They dislike themselves. They're constantly hoping that somebody else is going to prove to them that they are really worthy. Nearly 70% of the planet has an undefined Heart Center. It’s such a mess out there.
The investigator says, if you don't have a solid foundation, I don't care where you're going, but everything is going to fall down. The very nature of the hexagram, the very construct itself, cannot survive without a solid foundation, it cannot. So we are driven to find the foundations. We are driven. It is the very, very source of our drive to know, to understand, to make sense of, and to grasp. Everything, everything—the more you know, the less you fear? the more you know, the less you fear. You can see the way these beings can be driven.

(Post 35) All 2nd Lines are Waiting for Something Specific
For the 2 there’s always something else. There’s always something else, always. And it’s not about that it’s not satisfied, because you can’t anthropomorphize it that way. It isn't. Inherent in the 2 is this refusal to be secure. It’s a refusal in a sense to really be secure. When you think about the hermit and you think about the hermit closed off in their environment, what you know about them because you see them in the notself all the time is that they're not really closed off at all. They’re protecting themselves, while at the same time they're waiting for something. Every single 2nd line is waiting for something.
We know when the sense of the Personality that it’s waiting for the call. I only have two 2nd lines, and one of them clearly for me, the 40th gate 2nd line was where I got the call. This is what the 2nd line is all about. Not only that, but you’ve got to understand something about this call. It is so specific. This is one of the great dilemmas for anyone who is carrying a hermit Personality, the 2/4s, the 2/5s, how messed up their lives can be, because they don't know what call. They can’t recognize it. They are not ready for it because they cannot see it or hear it or recognize it.
Oh, there's nothing more incredible than the distortion that exists in the hermit. And why do you think they are called the hermit? They’re not called the hermit because of the potential of their true self. They're called the hermit because this is the deep, deep, deep result of the notself, all these hermit, regardless of their type, angry, frustrated, disappointed, bitter, stuck away in their little places because they've gambled on all those calls and they blew up in their face because it didn't really get the call. They didn't.

(Post 36) The 2/4 Sphinx
It's a beautiful line, the 2nd line. It says: Love is light. These are very lonely people, the 2/4s. The 2nd Personality is something that is really is such a filter, a very strong filtering force. It doesn‘t let everything in. Because it's open to the call, one of its basic things is that it's very picky. People think that the 2 is just this shyness business. It‘s just picky. So, it doesn't put off that vibration that says I'm here, you can call me easily. It puts up barriers to block away those forces that it doesn't want to be forced to respond to in terms of the call.
Now, when you're dealing with a 2/4 Sphinx you have to see that there are all these people outside saying, excuse me, could you tell me where to go and the Sphinx does. Get lost; don‘t bother me. I don‘t know where you want to go. You figure out where you want to go. And as a Sphinx, the moment you deny someone direction, you are resented. It's the greatest dilemma for Sphinxes, and it doesn't matter what configuration you have, everybody knows you're a Sphinx, whether they know it or not. There is something that is inherent in the way in which your aura is felt that leads the other to assume that you can give them direction of one kind or another. And the moment you meet a 2/4 Sphinx and you know that they could help you, you also realize right away that they may not.
One of the things about the 1st hexagram is why bother to show them the way when in the end it's meaningless anyway, and how influential that is. They‘re at their best really alone. And only alone can they finally find their way. Now, that's very difficult. Most 2/4s get stuck in their family aura. It‘s very hard for them to get out of that. It‘s not an easy thing. It‘s very difficult for them to escape the direction that they have inherited both genetically and socially.
One of the things about the 1 as a 2/4 is that they belong in a cave somewhere, at least once in their life. It doesn't have to be an uncomfortable cave. It‘s just about isolation. It‘s just about seeing that it's only a process within themselves that ultimately is going to give them the ability to be open to others, to be open to others to actually be in a situation where they can actually give that kind of direction.

(Post 37) Defined and Undefined G Centers
When we come to the mundane, that is when we come to looking at the G Center in terms of the way in which it works within the Design of beings, is to see that the defining of the G Center, to have the G Center defined—remember that any Definition is something that is very, very narrow. You can see from the illustration of the way in which the information moves through the crystal that you have a very fine line from the Base to the Tone to the Color to the Line to the Gate to the integration into the graph. So, beings who have defined G Centers have a very, very narrow fixed identity. It’s often why their identity appears to be so sharp in contrast to others simply because there is this consistency on this very narrow line.
The dilemma for those who have an undefined G Center is an obvious dilemma. That is, there is no consistency of identity, but that doesn’t mean there is no consistency of persona. And I think this is often deeply misunderstood. You can be somebody with an undefined G, but you have an outer persona that others recognize. The dilemma for most people with the undefined G is that it doesn’t have anything to do with them. In other words, if you have an undefined G Center, identity isn’t the problem. Getting hooked in identity is very much the problem. The same dilemma that exists in any open center is the moment that you get caught in trying to fulfill the potential of that open center, trying to fix it, trying to define it, and then you end up with the deepest possible conditioning.
Again, everything about being able to reach a point of correctness and awakeness is to be able to accept, to be able to surrender, to what is your Design and surrender to the Authority of your vehicle. The moment you surrender to the Authority of your vehicle, your openness loses the power to distort life for you. Most people with undefined G Centers have a very distorted perception of identity. It’s a natural byproduct of taking in information into an open center.
Remember what happens: when open centers take in conditioning they amply it, and the amplification leads to distortion. Things become worse than they actually are; feelings become more uncomfortable than they need to be, and so forth and so on. Most human beings with an open G Center get carried away on the inflated identity— while I’m speaking I’m remembering a woman I did an analysis for many, many years ago, very, very early in my career. She had an undefined G. Her husband was a Sacral to the G defined, I think two channels. I was explaining to her about the undefined G and she just said, “I’m so tired of his gods.” It was a very strange comment. But that’s literally how it was inflated, taking on this super identity that had nothing to do whatsoever with this being.
Again, feeling lost; so many beings with the undefined G Center spend their lives feeling lost or being lost. Most of them end up in mazes where they think they know where they are where, in fact, if it came to really getting out of there, they really wouldn’t know how whatsoever. It can be very, very distracting at that point.
It also says something about not being able to consistently really connect in that sense. Connect not in the point of the other, per se, but have a sense of where everything is going. In other words, the beings with an undefined G can really be out of step and not know where the wind is blowing because they’re caught up in this pursuit.

(Post 38) You have to be Ready for Truth
It takes over your life. It completely takes over your life. It defines everything for you, your mind, everything. And in holding onto it so deeply and being so filled with fear because that is what rules everyone on this planet, there is no hope to find what is really there. From the very beginning of the work in Human Design I have insisted that people understand that this is something that you experiment with. It's not something you believe. It's something you test; you check it out. It is clear to me that those who do find their way, because again the truth is an obvious thing, if you're ready to see it, it's there for you. But you have to be ready to see it.
You can present the truth to everyone; it doesn't mean they see it. You have to be ready for truth. You have to be ready to abandon your mind running your life. It's funny about that. I watch human beings and they're always giving up their authority to everybody else, and they give up their authority so easy to everybody else. But they have such a hard time giving up authority to their own body. Isn't that odd?
The average human being bows down to a dozen authorities a day from every possible direction. And yet, they have difficulty in bowing down to the authority that will really make a difference in their life. This mind, how distorting it is. It's why in order to really cleanse the mind you have to return fully, embrace fully what the form is. This is our movie.
Everything that I have been teaching you, everything that I have been sharing with you is always the same thing. Everything about life is conditioning. And everything about dealing with conditioning is the refinement of the way in which the form operates. The more correct you are in the way you operate as a physical form in this physical maia the easier everything becomes for you.

(Post 39) The Creators of the Maia
There’s a basic law. You get to a point in which your survival is relatively speaking assured, then what? This is about the development of consciousness. All of this is about the development of the potential of awareness. When I look at 3s I look at the creators of the maia. If you have listened to my lectures on the 1st line level and my lectures about the nature of the 3rd line I always talk about its mastery of the material plane, because after all, this is what the 3rd line is about. It is the one that is really here to be able to function on the material plane. That’s its nature. Where does this come from? It is rooted deep, deep underneath that in the continuity of the structuring, in that continuity lies something that is very, very profound. They were the makers of the maia. They created the maia.
This is what this 3rd Tone does in the world now still. Our maia has expanded enormously. Every time you give something a name and every time that name is shared, the maia has been expanded. We've expanded the maia unbelievably. And we’re the masters of it, the masters of the 3rd line beings. Look at their bodies, the 1/3s and the 6/3s. This is a very different kind of body. It is incredibly resilient. It’s the kind of body that you beat on it and you beat on it and it doesn’t make a damn bit of difference, at least for awhile.
Oh, yes, you can eventually beat them down, you can. It is, after all, the martyr. At some point they can be absolutely overwhelmed in their not-self life and truly beaten down. These are the bodies that need to be looked after. This is the armor for anyone who has a 3 body, it’s their body. This is their great gift because the body carries this unique power to deal with the maia and the maia is dense. And everything about this maia is about the correct determination that gets you to the right environment. One of the things that I see very clearly about 3rd line bodies is that the bodies need healing. Most 3rd line body beings are very, very aware of difficulties and sensitive areas in their body. They take a lot.

(Post 40) The 4th Line Mantra
What is so interesting about the 4th line is that the 4th line, in a sense, is desperately trying to compensate for what the 4th Color is, which makes the 4th line rather interesting in terms of the way in which it operates. When I was first introducing the 4th line to people I had a little mantra for them. That little mantra was: Never leave a lover until you have another lover. Never leave the job until you have another job. Never leave your house, give up your lease on your flat unless you have some place that you’ve already arranged to go to. It was one of those standard things that I repeated over and over and over again every time I dealt with the 4th line being.
It’s interesting when you think about that. When you think about that as a construct of hold onto something, have something that is very secure and from that very secure base that's when you can afford to or you can be ready to do what the 4th line does, which is network. But the base is something that is absolutely essential, to be able to have that secure platform to work from. Remember that when we’re dealing with the hexagram structure it is something to always grasp that we are dealing with a phenomena of harmonics. And what we learned from the 1st line is that we learned this deep need, this deep foundation in us, this drive, and this deep insecurity in us to make sure that we have a solid platform. So we dig in and we investigate.
There is this fundamental connection that is here when we look tonally, that there is this connection when we look at the way in which the tonal binaries are structured, that the splendid binary, the root of things in terms of our intelligence, our basic fear mechanism, that all of that is very much part of the 1st line process. Here we have the harmonic to this. And when we’re moving into that harmonic we're actually moving, if we’re looking downward in the continuity just of the numbers, that we get to look at the 4th Tone and we get to see something new. And it’s something new. And when I say “new” I mean new in the sense that the form is ready to express it.

(Post 41) The Power of Seduction
It is a power of seduction. And it is this power of seduction that is the way in which every hexagram—because if you look at every hexagram and their 5th lines, you will see they all have a certain specialness to them—the Savior, the Therapist, the Saint—there are all kinds of them, these 5th lines that all say this is something different. And of course, it isn't, in a sense. It is the projection that it gets, and we'll get into the projection of this.
Seduction is an amazing thing. In Human Design we spend a great deal of time understanding the nature of conditioning. The most important knowledge for us to have is to understand the nature of conditioning and free ourselves from the power of conditioning. And yet, it is one of those wonderful ironies, and I do love the ironies of the biverse. It is one of those lovely ironies that the conditioning one so deeply needs to grasp and understand and counter is also the very source of one's deepest potential in terms of wisdom in this life.
The thing that is interesting about human beings is that we are mostly receptors. If you look at somebody's design, other than rare situations, in most people’s designs they have a lot of hanging gates and they have an enormous amount of openness. And all of that openness, every single aspect of that openness, is a calling card. It is a receptor that literally is waiting, longing, whatever language you want to use to describe it, waiting for something happen, waiting to be conditioned. And in essence, if we look at the nature of the way in which the bio-form is designed, everything about the transformation of the bio-form is the result of conditioning or deconditioning.

(Post 42) Autism and Prostate Cancer
I have to digress to my share with you some of my interest in this. I’ve had a long-term fascination with autism and have been pointing to the rise of autism and prostate cancer as the by-product of the evolutionary program—mutations arriving too soon. That is, those beings who are afflicted with prostate cancer, the males who are afflicted with prostate cancer are the males that post-2027 would be able to fertilize a rave. And the autistic children are just simply, and unfortunately, but then again, evolution works this way, they came at the wrong time, because the program isn’t in place.
Harvard University released an extraordinary study on the genetics of autism and a number of statements that arose out of that are truly fascinating. One is that all autism causes are different, are unique, and are differentiated which is something that's rather interesting. What they have also discovered is that all of the genetic markers they have discovered associated with autism, basically what these particular genes do is they make it difficult for experience to be transformed. In other words, they make it difficult for experience to be integrated. It has to do with the way in which neurons fire and the way in which the synapses operate.
The thing about the autistic child is that an ordinary capacity in the brain to be able to transform experience into memory, into transformed behavior, is something that is turned off in the autistic child. Now, what’s curious about this is, in understanding the nature of the rave or the coming of the rave, and some of you, many of you have had enough background in is, the thing that's interesting about the rave is that they are they are going to be the species that is going to be able to operate out of Solar Plexus awareness. Now, modern Solar Plexus investigation in the scientific field is full of just absolutely astounding discoveries. The Solar Plexus, for example, has more neural capacity than the brain itself.
So we're dealing with a phenomenal place in which experience is being translated differently. It is Solar Plexus neural activity that's going to be translating experience for the coming rave. And in these autistic children there are these genes that naturally turn this off. They naturally turn it off. And of course, this is the way it’s supposed to be, except there's nothing to take its place yet. There is no neural activity that is ready to replace that. This is the thing that is so fascinating and to see it now.
Everything I've been teaching for nearly 21 years about this subject is now being realized in genetics. It’s really an incredible thing, and just to be able to understand this. The reason I bring this up is that this is what we're dealing with when we're dealing with the underlying thematic that is there as a foundation of the way in which the heretic ultimately is going to be affected. And of course, what is there is something very, very unusual, because it is a tactile quality that is extraordinary. That is, it is capable of taking in a tremendous amount of information.

(Post 43) Dominance
This is one of my favorites, this is dominance. Somebody has the whole channel and the other does not have any. This person is taking in the whole experience of having these centers defined and defined in this way and amplifying that.
The really interesting thing in relationships is, when I showed you earlier the 9 and 0 and 8 and 1, and you look at them at that level, when they come together in the connection chart – there is this THING there and that thing takes on a life of its own. It’s what you become as a couple, as friends, whatever the case may be, whatever label you put on that relationship. It is that thing that you become and you begin to see each other within that framework. Particularly, for example, the 9 and 0 is very locked into each other and see each other through that connection.
Think about what it is not to have dominance in your relationship. For example you don’t have a dominance in relation to your partner and your partner has a dominance in relation to you. If you don’t have that, neither one of you really know what each other is like away from each other. You don’t. If you have a partner who has 28/38, the Channel of Struggle, and it’s dominance for you because you don’t have any of that and if you meet somebody who just saw your partner looking for their car keys – I’d say `Oh, yeah, that’s them’. Because the moment that you have dominance from somebody, you really learn a great deal about whatever that thing is. It becomes something that you’d identify very easily with that person. And identify with them in the sense that you have a sense of them beyond the relationship. Most couples don’t have a sense of their partner beyond the relationship. It’s really funny when you think about that. The only understanding they have is the way they connect to that partner. And of course, given that they are not-self and they are all lost in that, they have very little understanding of each other as a being.
Why do you think so many relationships get to the point when one of the partners is in the stage of `This just doesn’t work’. They just get there.

(Post 44) The Openness Conditions the Way the Mind Thinks and Makes Decisions
So, the first thing to understand about our openness is that this is what takes in the deep, deep, deep conditioning. But the second thing, the most devastating thing is that it goes directly to your mind. Not only does it go directly to your mind, but it's going to condition the way in which your mind is going to think and the way in which you are going to make decisions with that mind. This is the not-self. And it is a deeply, deeply, deeply powerful thing. You never get rid of it.
It is one of the great ironies of openness. If you're unaware and you're operating according to what your mind tells you to do, you're never going to live your life. You're never going to have that life. Never. And all of those open centers become your enemy, guiding the way in which your mind distorts the nature of what it thinks its purpose is. But that openness is also something else because when you are correct, when you're operating out of your Strategy and Authority what happens is that openness becomes the source of your wisdom.
I'm somebody that has an open Solar Plexus Center, undefined emotional system. I can remember in my life when it ruled both my body and my mind. I can remember how clearly it distorted everything about the nature of my life. For over two decades now I watch what goes through my Solar Plexus system. It's allowed me to become very wise about the nature of emotionality and emotional beings. It's allowed me to be of service to them. It's allowed me a deeper understanding of its nature and how it works.

(Post 45) The 1st Line Design
It is different when it's the body, the 4/1s, the 5/1s, these 1 bodies, these are bodies that are fearful. These are bodies that like solid ground. They’re different. They are bodies that are always looking for a secure position, a defensible position. It’s interesting to think about the nature of investigation and to realize that investigation is something that you are designed to do alone. We have investigation factories on the planet, huge investigation factories, think tanks and research labs and all of these kinds of things that have brought us the so-called wonders that we have; the homogenized process.
The investigator is a personal thing, it’s an individual thing. It’s not intended to be a group endeavor. It isn't. You can see that when you go into the body and you can see very clearly that 4/1s and 5/1s, that their investigation is something that needs to take place behind closed doors. They’re different. They’re not the kind of beings that go out in the world. Their investigation is much more internal process, an inner process of investigation. And at the same time, they are very uncomfortable if their environment isn't secure.
When you begin to understand that the line is a generic, that there are all these differentiated possibilities that flow up from underneath, you can begin to look at these linings in a different way. You can begin to look at them from the point of view of a director, rather than the actor, to stay with my metaphor. The director in the sense of: Well, how is my line to be played? What is it that is going to make my line played differently? This is the knowledge that is there in those that have been trained to be PHS Practitioners and Rave Psychologists, to be able to guide individuals into this process deeper and deeper so that they, through the recognition of the mechanics, can begin to watch the process. It's not like you have to do anything in the classic sense.
Oh yes, there is a great deal involved in transformation. Transformation in and of itself is a radical process and it's a radical process that demands that you move deeper and deeper and deeper into what is a deeply personally oriented process. Here in this particular configuration, when you're dealing with an investigator, that one of the things that is clear is that the investigator is going to benefit from protection and security in their environment. I know this as a 5/1 and 5/1s are notoriously careful and paranoid. This is one of their aspects.
What you have underneath is that you have ingrained in that the potential of the fear and the insecurity that is there in the 1st line body and in the need for secure and protected environment. And at the same time you have the 5th line Personality ooking at the world and saying, “what do they want?” And you can see right away what happens that the moment this stays just the generic—so many 5/1s, I know a lot of 5/1s, it’s quite something to see how messed up they can actually be, how any of these configurations are the moment that you're dealing with human beings that are just simply not-self.

(Post 46) Participating in Evolution Consciously
One of the things that I truly enjoy is participating in evolution consciously. It's perhaps the greatest gift for me as an intellectual that Human Design gave me. I find it very exciting to be able to see evolutionary patterns at work and to be able to watch those patterns. We are in a deep, mutative cycle. Things are changing deeply in terms of the way in which the form functions and the future of the way in which this form functions.
But all that comes back to the same thing. All that comes back to understanding that this is the way the life force works. The life force cannot survive without mutation. No direction is ever guaranteed, which means that all you can do is surrender. Not to get stuck in the “I want to go this way and I want to go that way,” not the screaming of the passenger in the backseat to turn left or to turn right. And to be aware of it as it happens.
What I love about being a conscious participant in evolution is to be aware of the mutation, to see the changes at work. You cannot do that if your mind is absorbed in what you're going to do for lunch. You can‘t. You never get to see it; you miss the beat. It looks funny when you miss the beat, doesn't it? That person that can't dance, that person that can‘t tap their fingers to the beat, how off it is. But you have to be aware to catch the shifts. You have to be relaxed watching the movie to see it unfold, to read between the lines.
It‘s only when you can recognize it that it becomes so transforming. We have this enormous capacity inherent in all this. This is the real center of the being. And in being the center of the being, it means that this is the architecture at the planning stage, when they‘re looking at the holistic BodyGraph, if you look at this center from the Sacral to the identity, what you're looking at is the basic construct of how to be in the world, just how to be in the world. It‘s not about all the other things, because there are all kinds of other things that are there. It‘s just how to be here.
You can see that it comes with the form. It‘s only through the form that you can be here in the flow and discover and that you have the key. You have the key to the fulfillment of your identity. The fulfillment of your identity brings you purpose and that is simply Strategy and Authority; it isn‘t anything else. You cannot escape this because it is the world. It is the generated, enveloping process. What you get to see of that is if you look at these three key areas and you think about the fact that the not-self is up here (in the mind) making its not-self decisions, this is where the dilemma is in the nature of being on this plane. It‘s where the problem is. The deep frustration that is inherent in homogenized consciousness, that frustration is out of this. They struggle against the flow. They cannot find their rhythm. There is nothing to discover. There is nothing that locks them in and they certainly do not have the key; always trying to initiate, always ignoring what is the central power in their life.
It is the magic of what understanding such extraordinary mechanics leads to. It leads to taking advantage of the formula itself. It‘s what we do in Human Design; we take advantage of the formula. But it doesn't eliminate mind. To operate correctly, to make decisions based on your Strategy and Authority, it doesn‘t mean that all of a sudden your mind goes, “Okay I give up!” It isn‘t like that at all.
The deepest and most profound challenge that we have is to deal with the nature of mind and to control the impulses of the personality out of fear, to control its life and thus destroy it. It‘s the fear that is the great dilemma. You'll notice that here between the Sacral and the G Center, there are no fears; fear is associated with awareness centers. This is just a program of the way in which we are intended to live. This is the generated, expressed identity that is supposed to be our identity as a species, and you can see how distorted it is, and it‘s the fear.

(Post 47) It is Time to See We are Not Seven-Centered
Try to think about it in another context. Think about it as a science fiction movie, for example. You're living on a planet and you have all these aliens that used to live there and you're still living the way they did, but they're not there anymore. It's kind of insane, if you know what I mean. It's what we're living. The homogenized world, the way the homogenized not-self world operates is that it is operating as a seven-centered strategic creature, and we're not. And we haven't been for a long time. And it is indeed time to wake up. It is.
Everything about what I do is rooted in the practical. It has to be. The moment that you enter into the experiment itself of following your Strategy and Authority, what you understand is you do indeed have a capacity to make decisions without your mind. You just get to see it. It's not like I'm making this up. You get to see it. You get to see there is a place within you regardless of how you experience that, there is a place within you that has the ability to be able to guide you. Just the fact that you can see that, experience it in your experiment, it's telling you something, isn't it? Something that you didn't think existed, something so important, something that is going to make your life. You don't even know it's there.
This is the dominance of mind. This is the way that mind gets in the way and distorts everything. That's why Strategy and Authority is so essential, because you don't need mind for that. And it immediately will show you experientially that you will make decisions that work for you, that are correct for you, that are going to transform your process. And then mind, the nine-centered mind begins to take its rightful place.

(Post 48) Hexagram 23 “Splitting Apart”
There is a difference between the collective process in the throat, with its primary gates of communication, and the individual process. The collective process in the throat is the capacity to be able to translate the internal image or concept from the mind into language, into words: to get people in the abstract process to be able to see and make sense out of what you are telling them, or in the logical process to get people to recognize and understand the facts.
When we come to the individual process, it operates differently because the individual mind is acoustic. Whenever you see individuality in a chart, what you are looking at is an aspect that operates at an acoustic level. So, rather than trying to translate an image and turn it into language so that you can get people to see what you are talking about, the 23rd gate acts as a legitimate translator, very much like what Jurgen does when he translates me. That is, you take the original inner sound, the inner voice, and find a way to translate that into a language that allows the individual to explain themselves.
The channel 43/23, the channel of Structuring, is a design of individuality subtitled: 'from genius to freak.' The individual is always on the outside until they find a way to be able to explain themselves. Unless the individual can explain themselves, they are always going to be placed on the outside. The 23rd gate does not say, "I believe," like the abstract voice. It does not say, "I think," like the logical voice. It says, "I know," or "I don't know." When you say, "I know," you had better be able to explain yourself; if you can't, you will be rejected.
Above the lines it says, Amorality. It is one of the things to recognize about the nature of the individual process that, contrary to the collective and the tribal processes, which are both moralistic, the individual process is not. Amorality is the key to the individual process. It is not about what is right or wrong. It is about what one knows or does not know.
The awareness and understanding that leads to the acceptance of diversity. The difficulty with all individuality is that it seeks to be accepted. It will always attract attention. Because the individual is different and brings the potential for a mutative force, the individual can be easily rejected. When the individual becomes moralistic, they are the first to be rejected. The reality is that individuals are simply different. It is not about whether it is good or bad.

(Post 49) Hanging Gates
You look at your Design. Look at the gates that are hanging there in the centers. Now there you have something to look at. They’re hanging there from those centers and you can imagine them as some kind of lounge lizard with its tongue dangling waiting, breathlessly, longing for the other side. Those gates where you have activation and you don’t have anything on the other side; there is always this thing there. This illusion of incompleteness, this illusion that something is missing and I have to have it. And if I don’t get it then there’s something wrong with me, so I want it. Look at those gates you have hanging, look at what’s at the other end. “I want it. It should be mine, I deserve it. I need it, I’m going to chase after it, and I’m going to make it happen.”
Your life becomes the pursuit of what you’re not at every gate, at every open center. And it’s not like connecting or not is a question. It isn’t. We are born into a connective environment. We are born into the penta of our families. We are born into connection. We are born into conditioning. They are the same thing—connecting and conditioning—exactly the same thing. It’s just another perspective on the same process. You only connect to what conditions you. You do not connect to anything else. You connect to what conditions you. Oh, it’s a lure.
And when you first enter into this process of Design and you’re first introduced to the meaning of that openness in you, what you don’t often see is what you do to the other in the way the other does to you. It’s a kind of perverse do-unto-others trip. Because the conditioner of you, you are the conditioner of them, which is why we have dysfunctional relationships, dysfunctional families and on and on.

(Post 50) hexagram 16 enthusiasm
One of the things to recognize about the nature of the collective process is that it is all about the difficulty in getting access to energy. On one side of the throat are three gates that are pointed directly at motors (35, 12, 45) so they become gates in which action is always a possibility. The 20 can connect to the sacral. The only gate that points downward other than to the G center, and that does not have any access to energy, is the 16th gate.
It says above the lines of this gate: The great art of enriching life by the harmonic channeling of energy. There is no energy. If you go down to the 48th gate, what you have is a gate of depth that is part of the splenic system, which is not a motor. Due to that, the talent that is inherent in the 16/48 is a talent that can be deeply frustrated because it does not have easy access to energy.
The 16th gate is very important because it is the primary gate of identification. This is different from a gate of identity. We looked at the three gates of identity. They release the identities of direction that come out of the Sphinx gates. In the 16th gate, we are dealing with a gate of identification. I have many people in my life who have been on the mystical, spiritual path and so many of them who ended up in the hands of Eastern philosophy have been told that to identify is a terrible thing. "Do not identify" If you have the 16th gate or anything else in the logical process, if you do not identify with it, you will never master it.
The 16th gate is the gate of skills. The whole basis of skill in talent is that you have to identify with what you are doing. Without identifying with it, there is no way in which you can fulfill it. If you don't identify with being an artist, you can never be an artist in that sense. This is an identification that is operating mechanically. In other words, for people who have the 16th gate in their design and who are taught that they should not identify, they are being told, "Don't identify with your identification."
But you have to be identified on the mundane plane, whatever it is that you do. Otherwise, an artist or a musician has no way to achieve perfection and mastery. Mastery is based on identification. The artist needs that deep identification in order to repeat and perfect his pattern.
Understand something very important about the logical process. You can't dabble in logic. You have to be identified with the process, which means extended experimentation in order to develop a clear understanding. Unless you are identified with that logical process, you are not going to get the rewards from logic. It is not enough to simply say that this is the way the process works. You have to identify with that process. You have to get through that process. You have to experiment with it and come out at the other end with either proof or disproof of the validity of whatever the pattern is.

(Post 51) Life is about Geometry and Movement
The other thing is life is about geometry. It's all about movement. And one of the most profound things to think about is that if you're operating correctly as yourself, you're moving in precisely the right direction which means you're going to meet the fractals that are there for you and those beings who are there to meet you can find you. But if you're not operating correctly, then your geometry isn't correct and then you end up in situations in which there are no allies and you're connecting with the wrong forces.
Everything about any kind of relationship we have with the larger imprint field— remember something, the primary responsibility of the program is the imprinting of new life. It's my joke that when I was born everybody on the planet greeted me because they had to live my design for however long it existed in the moving of all things. Each and every one of you, as you came into the world, we all experienced you. The baby that's being born now, we experience that as the daily transit.
The primary function of the program is pumping this world full of its genetic diversity. Its secondary impact is the fact that all of that stuff that is incarnating we process at a secondary level. In this processing of it at a secondary level, you have to see that you don't want to be the baby that's being born now, you're not a damn clone. You're here to just take advantage of what aspects are there for you.

(Post 52) A Story about Osho’s Chart
I started with a little story. I’ll finish with one. I can remember when I was preparing to give my third analyst training here in Ibiza. I think it was 1993. I had my drawings up, the blank bodygraph, no data field, just a big blank bodygraph. I had them blown up and photocopied so they were a fairly large size. I took a number of famous people that I had calculated and I drew them into these very large bodygraphs to use as illustrations.
In that era when I was living in Ibiza there was a lot of sannyasins here who were the followers of Osho, Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh. It was one of the illustrations that I had done. I had stood them up against the wall in my studio. I was doing something and one of my friends dropped by. He brought along a friend of his, a young Italian fellow. Actually the friend was Alok Diaz. It was just after he had had his first reading.
Alok and I had gone outside and we were just chatting, talking about something. I came into my studio and here was this young Italian guy, I don’t remember his name, a very sweet fellow. He was down on his knees—I had put these things on the floor—and he was totally lost in the bodygraph of Osho, who was his master. We came in and we sort of giggled, it was a funny scene. He got up slowly rather wideeyed and all he could say was, “I could actually feel him.”
The bodygraph is an amazing thing. For me it is a piece a magic, truly magic. I understand the science of it, the mechanics of it. I’ve been doing this a long time. But I can never get over the fact that there was a Voice that told me how to draw it and it is, as it stands on its own, an extraordinary thing. So, the bodygraph is what you need to know. The information is great and it is wonderful to grasp detail, but to understand a being, to be able to understand a chart, you have to understand the bodygraph.

(Post 53) The Creative Potential Inherent in the Right
The great tragedy for me of what has taken place in the lives of the Rights since 1781 is this incredible wonder of this all-seeing that has never been given its due, never been given respect, never been allowed to emerge on this plane. Oh yeah, it comes out in some ways, because as I will describe to you as we move through this process, the Right brings creativity. And so there is this deep creative resource that does emerge at times. Some of the most creative people that I have in my life are deeply, deeply Right beings.
You can see that their creative potential is something that is just limitless. There is no end to the possibilities. As a matter of fact, the only thing that limits their creativity is the pressure of the strategic world to narrow their focus and try to get them to be creative in certain ways.
I was having this conversation before with my musical friend, Jean Pierre, who is all- Right. We‘ve been making music together for over 20 years. He was saying that he was on his way to the Montreux Festival. He lives in Switzerland. He was talking about how it's no longer a jazz festival; that it's become a pop festival. I made the comment that this is just the Left taking over. Jazz is deeply Right. Pop is incredibly Left. It‘s incredibly strategic looking for the hooks, trying to grab people instead of just releasing the beauty that is there.
The creative potential inherent in the Right that given the nature of your design— after all, the level of creativity, the level of potential creativity in Right beings is determined not simply by their Right-ness, obviously that is just simply the Variable. And I say “simply” putting that in context. It has to do with the nature of their design. It has to do with the way in which they were raised. It has to do with many, many things in terms of what quality of their creative potential is actually going to emerge.

(Post 54) What is Possible When Coming off the Roof is Questionable
What is clear to me when I look at it, and looking at it is another story, what is clear for me is that to be a conditioned being who has been deconditioned who is a 6th line being that what is possible coming off the roof is questionable. It's about how well you’re prepared before you get there. And it’s real preparation both physically and psychologically to be able to go through that process. Otherwise, you're going to meet instead of the possibilities, you're going to be dragged into the “this” or to the “that.” The moment that happens is the moment all the weaknesses that were once there reemerge and reemerge in a form that no longer has the physical ability to be able to handle such a thing.
The interesting thing about a 6th line being in their 3rd line phase is that they get the advantage of 3rd line resiliency. Most 6th line beings who go through hell in their 3rd line phase are remarkably able to survive it. But the moment that they go fully into the 6th form they’ve used up, like cats’ lives, a lot of juice in that process of dealing with the chaos of the early part of their life.
The 6 is something we don't really know much about in a way. The key for me always is to go down deep and I look at the architecture, I look at the tonal architecture. How can I describe this to you? I think the best way to describe this to you is this way, there’s a 5 and then there’s the 6 and the 6 and the 6. This is the way everything is constructed. And you notice that the foundation of everything, which is Bases, only go to a 5. So what the hell is this? It makes you think.
It leads me back to my morning sidebar about the nature of carbon—six neutrons, six protons, six electrons, but anyway I won’t stay with that. What I'm trying to show you is 6s are part of the holistic illusion. They’re really the holistic illusion from the Tone up, after all. So the 6s are really strange. There is something very, very different about them because they carry a different kind of possibility. And in that sense they are a loop, in a way.

(Post 55) hexagram 39 obstruction
We move to the 39th gate and we come to the individual process. Whenever we are dealing with the stream of Emoting, whenever we are dealing with this individual stream that operates through the solar plex system, we know that this is the stream in which we are going to have the metamorphosis or the mutation taking place that will open up the potential to release the spirit consciousness that lies within the solar plex system. We know that the event itself is keyed to the 55th hexagram, to the sixth line. Keep in mind that the 55.6 is a potential which operates correctly when it is being fueled by the 39th gate. The 39th gate, as a fuel, is going to make its contribution to this metamorphosis that is going to take place in our emotional process.
The 39th gate is the gate of Obstruction, and it is the gate of provocation. It is the energy to provoke or not. In sexual terms, this theme is about teasing. This energy provokes in order to find the right spirit. This is one of the gates that could be best understood through the negative.
That is, provocation is there to find out who can not be provoked. If you try to provoke somebody and they are not provoked, that spirit is correct for you. If you can provoke somebody, that spirit is not correct for you. The provocation tries to find the right potential for that fuel to feed, to find the right spirit. All of that can be very confusing because the 55 is in the wave. What appears to be the right spirit on Monday will not be the right spirit on Tuesday. In the archetype of how this gate functions, the provocation is there to find the right spirit because, once linked to the correct spirit, there is the potential to emote, the potential to bring out the individual spirit and the capacity to bring mutation to manifestation, to bring it to everything else.
The individual is responsible for mutation in the plan. This is inherent in their design. You also have to see that there is no metamorphosis of the emotional system other than through the individual process. The individual can only have impact on the tribe or the collective when it is truly in the right spirit, what most people confuse with the term 'enlightenment.' Most people confuse this pathway with this term. The individual mutative force that is in the right mood, this spirit is infectious because it is there to move the mutation through the totality. The energy mechanic is the impulse which is rooted in the 3/60, in the pulsing energy to eat. It is about what you eat.
One of my favorite statements for 39's is when somebody comes into your life, imagine if you have to eat with them. Would you really like to eat with them? 39's know that better than anybody else. Adults never really get that, but if you ask children about the people around them, "Who do you want to eat with?" this is very revealing because they tell you spontaneously.
If you look at this stream and you look at the 12th gate which says caution and meditation in the face of temptation, you see that the 12th gate manifests the individual process in the throat. It is the gate of caution. It is important to withstand the temptation to do. It is better to meditate and back away from acting. In the 39, we find the fuel for this process.
The heading above the lines says: The value of obstruction in provoking analysis, assessment and reevaluation. It is the very fuel for that caution. That is what provoking is all about. Provoking is a deeply selective process. It is a very important process. What is so difficult for people who carry this energy is that, because they automatically are provocative, and given the nature of the world, they get so many people who are provoked by them. Because they are not the right spirit (not everybody is the right spirit), these people end up disliking the very value, the very essence of what they are. All of these themes can be seen in the first line in the foundation.
What is successful in provocation once, in terms of the spirit, may not be the next time due to the emotional wave on the other side. The 39 people themselves have to recognize why they are provoking. The 39 is a fuel, and it is not aware. So, they realize that they provoke naturally, and if they accept that, what they are only looking for is for the response of people who are not provoked by them (what I call the right spirit). In other words, if you have a certain kind of habit, like if you like to tap your feet while you are eating and you have somebody sitting beside you, and every time you are tapping your feet, the other person starts going "Ahem." This means that you are provoking them; thus they do not have the right spirit. Don't eat with them. If somebody else is there and doesn't mind your tapping, then you have found the right spirit. Period. It is not sophisticated. It is simply the recognition that those aspects of your nature are provocative to some. Only the people to whom it is not provocative are for you. To provoke "efficiently" comes back to your own recognition.

(Post 56) The Natural World Controlling Our Lives
When I look at the natural world, I look at a steamroller, this big steamroller just rolling along. And it is not separate from us. There is no separation. I want you to grasp that because the natural world operates in pure and perfect resonance to the program, that the conditions of the world that we live in is controlled here. If anything goes strange here, we end up having to deal with it. This is what is controlling so much of what we call our lives.
We don’t think about it on a day-to-day basis, the trees that produce the oxygen, and on and on and on. Aside from the obviousness of food and so forth and so on, all of these, it’s endless, it’s changing. It is changing. It’s something for all of us to be clear about, because our time of possibility, this beautiful moment where there is this knowledge that is available can allow a human being to break from the homogenized field and to find their true determination, to get to their differentiation, to be a unique expression and to fulfill our place not in the natural order, but in the unnatural order.
I’m somebody who promotes the abnormal. I am not here for normal—for normal people, for the homogenized world. My son has a great t-shirt that says: Normal people scare me. Yeah; no, this is about uniqueness. And it’s about seeing that the consciousness field does not honor uniqueness. It doesn’t at all. It’s not concerned with it in that sense. It’s just pushing the program forward. And what’s left for us is to be very clear that in order for us to break from the bonds of the homogenized world that we have to be in resonance with the consciousness field in our motivation so that we can see ourselves within the world for what it is. This is the key.
The moment motivation is pure is the moment there is this alignment between the consciousness and the world as a whole, and the relationship between the two. This is what we have. This is where the potential of seeing lies. You can only see things within their true context. It’s only when the motivation is correct that there is this alignment of awareness to the totality of the maya and the ability to be able to see things for what they are, relative, obviously, to the way of the seer, after all. We are unique. We all have a different cross to bear, a purpose that is there to be expressed, and an outer authority that is to be established. But it is this alignment of our underlying motivation to the motivation of the natural order that gives us the perspective to truly see.

(Post 57) hexagram 62 preponderance of the small
Where the abstract process creates a story, the logical process is actually creating the language, the source of what we call language. The key to what language is lies in the 62nd gate because it is the gate of giving things their names. After all, this is a channel of organizing humanity at the intellectual level and in order to do so, we always have to have common access to meanings.
The names are actually another word for formula. We have a formula that says 'tree,' and we teach everybody that the thing that we see out there, the word that we use for it is 'tree'. Once everybody accepts that formula, we have a basis for a form of communication with each other.
Facts are primary in our life. All these basic formulas are primary for us. It is this detail to make sure that everything not only has a name, but the moment that it has a name, we have a clear understanding of what that is. I am somebody who spends his adult intellectual life trying to arrive at the correct names for things, so that we have a common ground in our ability to understand the nature of the world and to project into the future. Everything about the 62nd gate is about the capacity to find the detail in what you are expressing, so that others can truly understand.
We are now looking at the logic side of the mind. On the logic side, you have a different process. In the 56th gate, I told you that we are dealing with two metamorphic gates that are involved in a process of translating what we see in the mind into what we call language. We have seen that the 56th gate is a gate of stimulation, of telling the story of humanity, of telling the story of the human way; so that is ultimately what human nature is all about. The idea or the conceptual part of the abstract mind is the ability to see sequences within the mind which you translate into a story, so you make a movie out of it and tell your tale.
When you come over to the logic side, it operates differently in its conceptual process. Logic is fixed on patterns because only out of patterns can logic work. The patterns can then be tested. On the intellectual level, we can call these patterns formulas or theories or opinions. They can be presented and then they can be tested. The pattern can be tested. The whole process of the logical, intellectual mind is to translate these inner patterns and to bring them out into language, to be able to describe them.
Because of that, the 62nd gate has a different metamorphic quality than the 56th gate. The 56 is there to tell a story in order to get a message across about the nature of what it is to be, but the 62 has to name all of those things. It has to give them their name. This is a gate of giving things their names and describing them so that they can be understood.
This is a factual voice. This is not the voice that says, "I believe" or "I do not believe". This is a voice that says, "I think" or "I do not think." Rather than being about hope or sorrow, it is a voice that is either reasonable or unreasonable, reasonable logic or unreasonable logic. This 62nd gate is the gate of Maya. The Human Design System is the mechanics of the Maya. It is an absolute of the mechanics of the Maya. The Maya is the illusionary world that we live in and in which we need to measure everything. This is a gate of measuring. It is measuring by giving things their names.
When you are dealing with somebody that has the 62nd gate, they are trying to organize their mental image and they are trying to get you to understand them. The storyteller just wants you to make sense out of their story, but the logical person is there to give you the facts and is trying logically to convince you and organize you through those facts. By the way, somebody who can produce good facts and articulate them well, that does not mean that they are right. It just means that this is something they can do. We all know, in a world of statistics, how facts can lie and cheat us, how theories can fall apart, how very good opinions can be meaningless. Don't get involved in any kind of moralistic distinction here. This is just about a mechanic. Everybody who has this 62nd gate is trying to be factual in the way that they get you to understand them.
Above the lines in the black book it says: Caution, patience and detail produce excellence out of limitation. This is the essence of what it is to be organized. The fact of the matter is that all collective processes are there to be shared, and there is a tendency to share collective mental processes before the right time, before one is really clear. Caution, patience and detail produce excellence out of limitation. The limitation is the pattern itself, in order to truly be able to understand the pattern.
Please understand why we have to understand the pattern. If we cannot understand a logical pattern, we cannot project comfortably into the future. The abstract looks at the past in order to tell us what our experience has been as humans, so that we can develop this wealth of information about our processes. The logical process is about establishing a ground, a framework upon which we can build our future. We know this mostly from our politicians. They tell us that if we follow their pattern, everything will be wonderful in the future. The scientist who says, "I have this formula. If we can only get it into the marketplace, we will be able to cure all these people in the future. I know that if I have the opportunity to discover this and that, I will be able to do that in the future." There is always this projection out into the future, so it requires caution and patience in order for the true detail to be there.

(Post 58) Life Needs Drama
Life needs drama. You go back into the most primitive societies; they had their way of creating dramas, organized dramas, whether they were pretending to be some kind of animal. We need drama. Why do you think there is so much hyperbole in history, so much puffery, so much this and that, so many lies? But we need the drama. And of course, for me there are two ways of looking at this. I see the drama as it emerges in the homogenized world through the not-self. It's not exactly delicious, but it is something to understand about us.
And when I say that we are here to dramatize our lives, what I mean by that is that our very existence is the stuff of our Outer Authority. We‘re not here to take on the cloak of someone else, to be dressed up like everybody else, bowing down to the same concepts. It is not what we‘re here for. There is nothing in individuality that says I am a "yes man" or a "yes woman"; that is not what individuality is about. It's not what uniqueness is about.
It‘s not about seeing that life is boring, dark, difficult, all those things. Certainly that‘s what at least half of all humans experience most of the time. If you don't get to live correctly, you never get to see how beautiful it is, how interesting your character is, and how deep, how rich the resource of that potential Outer Authority. We are not here alone. Individuality is not alone in the BodyGraph. We are not here alone. We are here to be with the other, we cannot avoid it. And yet, at the same time, we have to see that if we are not correct, if we do not live out our drama, if we do not live out our story, if we cannot live out our purpose and find our spirit, then it doesn't matter. Your relationship with the other is all just lost in the homogenized movie and you'll be pigeonholed like everybody else into that‘s who you are, you‘re that kind of the person thinking those kinds of thoughts, the madness of the homogenized world. It‘s really mad.

(Post 59) The Program is Breaking Down
So, crystals of consciousness are us and they're everything. And they're all part of this vast program. And it is a program and it is a program that is breaking down. It's breaking down not because anything is bad or wrong. It's because everything has a beginning, middle and end. We are in the end game. It's what I do for a living. I bring end knowledge, completion knowledge. And it is that; nothing more, nothing less. We have been on these planes and in these forms for so long and we have always been lost in the control mechanisms.
Yes, we can bow down and say they are the Gods and they are this or that, but we have always been in their thrall, always. And the world is still in their thrall. They still bow down to these corners, they still bow down to the control mechanism every day in the program, still. The program says "jump," they say "how high," still. And until you see it, until you can feel it denser and denser and denser, only then can you begin to understand that you're here for yourself. You can't be here for anyone else until you are here for yourself.
If you cannot be correct, nothing will be correct. And until you can surrender to the form you are never going to be able to see what you're here to see, to grasp what you're here to grasp, to live out the potential that is there. And we live now in very difficult times. I've been teaching for 20 years that the Cross of Planning, the cycle that we have been living in since the beginning of the 1600s is coming to an end. It is going to bring a breakdown in the way in which our civilizations have developed and operate. It is going to bring a great deal of discomfort and suffering and change into the world. And that humanity is not equipped for this.
It's what this knowledge is here for, for the nine-centered being, for us, so that we can understand how to operate correctly so that we can live out the potential that is here for us. The potential is not about this. It's about the awareness, the perception that is possible. And the only thing that deals with the form itself is that the knowledge allows you not to have to spend your whole life trying to stay alive. It's not what we're here for.
When I look out at the consciousness field, I see that all the possibilities are there. And at the same time I see how difficult it is; and it's so. Everything is so tightly woven together. And the advent of this particular form and its level of self-reflected consciousness has made the ability of the program to homogenize humanity so profound that when we look at the world today there is more suffering on this plane than this plane has ever known.

(Post 60) Roads and Tunnels
I mentioned my fondness for technology. In 1999 I actually did my first internet teaching. These were pre-prepared kinds of animated PowerPoints and I can remember how excited I was that that would actually get up on the internet and people could gain access to it, which wasn’t that easy. It was very primitive in those days. But it was called Roads and Tunnels. And Roads and Tunnels is still available in the States. It was one of my favorite works on the Personality and the Design, and I love that terminology.
When I look at the bodygraph, and this is something very basic in Human Design and it’s something that everyone who enters into this knowledge should be aware of, that is, this is a visual science. We are learning how to see and we’re learning how to see a matrix, and we’re learning how to analyze and understand a matrix. When I look at the G Center it’s a kind of a map for me. It’s just a mapping. It’s just about being able to look at that map and being able to see what’s going on.
And at the very basis of that map is that we have two kinds of transmission/ communication systems. We have our roads, which is the Personality, where everything is on the surface. And we have the tunnels. Of course, this is the Design. When you think of a Design as a tunnel, it’s actually a very profound way of grasping what happens to us as our Design operates. In other words, we don’t know what’s going on until it concretizes. We have no idea what it is until it concretizes.
So, you’re a 31/7 and you’re this administrating leader with your influence. You have no idea when it’s going to come out, how it’s going to come out and the moment it’s there it’s there, no preparation. You just don’t know. Of course, when you look at anybody’s Design and I mean their Human Design, it is the Design part of them that makes them uncomfortable. It is the openness that destroys their purpose. But it’s the Design that makes them uncomfortable.
Think about the person who is emotionally defined at the unconscious level only. Here you have somebody who cannot identify, cannot feel, see, watch, and be a part of the shifting of their wave. Suddenly it just goes from this to that. They don’t know why. They’ve had no preparation. It’s suddenly just there. The Design can be something that is very uncomfortable.
For us, in being able to interpret this information, this mapping, to be able to understand it is to be able to open up a place of acceptance. It’s much easier for the mind to accept the hardwired differentiation of the unconscious than it is for the mind to accept the not-self and its sway over the mind’s decision making process. That’s really difficult. Remember that every aspect of openness that you have, because of the genetic imperative, is determined to be attracted to what it is not.

(Post 61) The Monopole Runs the Show
Again, this is about basics, when you come back to basics. I’ve seen everything now in this life—that’s an overstatement—in relationship to the way in which awareness is peddled, the way in which well-being is peddled. There is so much misunderstanding that permeates the world that we live in. It is, after all, a homogenized not-self world. It’s so obvious that it’s the Monopole that runs the show and that the Monopole has a relationship with the Design Crystal, and a very secondary one to the Personality.
That it’s the vehicle’s life, it’s the vehicle’s movement that if the vehicle is healthy there is a chance that the Personality will be healthy. And if the vehicle is correct, there is a chance that the Personality can surrender to the pleasure of being the passenger of that correctness.
All of that begins with one thing and one thing only, it begins with taking away from the mind its trip that it has control over all of this. That it has control over what the Monopole can do; it’s a joke. It’s a joke to think that the passenger, that the Personality Crystal has any way of telling the Monopole, in essence, what to do. It does not; it’s not in charge, it has nothing to do with it. It’s the body. It’s what we live in, it’s what we ride in, it’s a rental, it’s leased. It’s all there is to it.
Only when you get to the point that you can begin to accept that that means your mind no longer makes decisions for you. And as long as your mind is making your decisions, and I don’t care whether you think you’re experimenting or not, if your mind is still making your decisions you’re still not-self and you’re still lost in not-self and you’re not going to get in this life what is the potential that is there for you.
It begins with the vehicle. It begins with understanding that we have a Design consciousness that is very profound, that its whole focus is about maintaining the correctness of this vehicle. That’s its job. And not only maintaining its correctness, but maintaining its unique differentiation, its potential to display in this life the perfection of what it is to be it and nothing else. And that that Authority has been overlooked endlessly by a mind absorbed with all kinds of nonsense, and living out a life that as you have seen in the way in which the Monopole brings together the illusion, that they don’t even get to the point of offering to the Monopole the correctness. They’re so deeply lost in the conditioning.

(Post 62) The 46/29
The other side, the collective process, the 46/29—it‘s an interesting thing. It‘s something that I‘ve always enjoyed as a surprise, in a sense. I‘m deeply individual. My whole design actually runs through the 20th gate, and the 20th gate is this existential gate, this now gate. Individuality, because it operates in a pulse, and in my particular case I‘m a splenic individual, that at first glance it would appear to be that I'm as existential as you can be within the context of Design. But the fact is that the most existential force in the BodyGraph is this channel, the 46/29. It is rivetingly existential in the sense that it‘s about being so deeply in the now that there is a risk of being out of touch, in a sense, but it is the most intensely existential force that we have.
Everything having to do with the abstract begins with the understanding that it is the abstract that gives us the human experiential way. So it is the abstract that establishes what the deepest human experience is going to be. This is much more about humanity rather than individual humans, in a sense, and individual humans in partnership. That is, the collective is always there, obviously to share.
When we're looking at the 46/29 we have something so interesting because the 29, which is ready to make a commitment, and the 46, which is all about whether one can be in the right place or not, that though the abstract is based on experience and the whole abstract process is there to move us experientially in life, and its goal is to be able to give us hindsight, to be able to look back and to be able to say, ?been there, done that, this is what that was. In other words, to give us a history, to give us a stored memory, in order to be able to do that, there is one channel in the whole abstract circuit that has absolutely nothing to do with the past. It‘s here. It‘s all about being totally in the experience. This is where discovery is.
It‘s not that we're just put out on the track and they say, “Okay go”. There is something that must come out of that process. We have a deeply diversified history; because of deeply diversified experiences, that on the surface can seem similar. Yet, if one goes deep within them, one immediately discovers differences. It is these discoveries that transform our world, our collective world, discoveries of things that are there that nobody has seen. Everything about this force is it is a force for deep, deep, deep connection to a process, a deep focus in process right there.

(Post 63) hexagram 59 dispersion
We are now looking at two gates which are of considerable importance in our lives because they condition so much of our behavior. In the Rave chart, we have six different gates that are gates of roles. We have four role gates that come out of the G center: the 13, the 1, the 7, and the 10, and we have two role gates that come out of the sacral center. This center acts as our genetic role generator. It is very important to understand that genetic roles are about what is necessary to satisfy the genetic need. It has nothing to do with the essence of the person, their mind or their feelings. It simply has to do with the genes themselves having their own imperative.
As you will see, when we are looking at both the 59th gate and the 27th gate, we are looking at genetic strategies. They do not describe the person. They describe a role. It is very important to keep that in mind when you are looking at role gates. Role gates never describe the person, but only the role. These two gates out of the sacral center connect on either side to mechanisms that have a deep impact on our lives. The waves and the frequencies impact on us. The sixth gate is the solar plex center gate which generates what we call the emotional wave: six different archetypes of the emotional waves. The 50th hexagram in the splenic system generates six different awareness frequencies.
These waves and frequencies operate through the lines and because of that, the wave that exists in the first line is going to be something that has a resonance to all other first and fourth lines. We have been looking at all of these different lines and we have gone through enough hexagrams now that you have this sense of what each of these steps is, from the one to the six.
The thing to recognize is that these roles have a resonance. Every first line which sets the foundation and is introspective resonates to the role of pursuer and pursued. Every second line resonates to the wave of shyness/boldness. Think about the second line. It is projecting something out but it does not necessarily have any way of dealing with somebody who is coming at it. The shy-strategy is projecting all kinds of sexuality but still acting out the shyness role and bringing boldness into its life. Each of these roles has a resonance in each of these lines, and it does not matter whether you translate that sexually or mentally. All third lines are about bonds made and broken. That is the sexual role of coming together and going apart. It is also a role, as we have seen, that exists as a resonance in all third lines, where mistakes can be made as part of the process of trial and error. The role of the fourth line is the role of the confidante or not. This is all about friendship. This is all about being focused, one-directionally in just being able to externalize and make friends. The fifth line is the role of the seducer and the seduced. We have seen how the fifth line gets projected on. This one is a seducer. When you get to the sixth line and you get to the soul mate or not, you get to the theme of all sixth lines which is, "If it is not going to be the most wonderful thing in the world, why bother?"
When we look here at the lines of the 59th gate, keep in mind that underneath lie these quintessential roles and they are strategy roles, and understand the nature of strategy. If you have somebody who has, for example, the fourth line, confidante or not, what that strategy is saying genetically is, "You are going to be restricted in your role to making friends with somebody before you can ever have a chance to make love to them." Not only is it saying that that will be the strategy, but what it is also saying is, "If you go through that process and first you make friends with that person and then finally become their lover, the child that you can produce is the right genetic combination because it is a genetic strategy." It is not that the person themselves like that. I know so many people that have the 59.4, and they are always complaining about how it is impossible for them to have a one-night-stand, how it is impossible for them to meet somebody and just dissolve into a relationship. They have to go through this process. By being somebody's friend first, you have to hear about their lovers and their problems. You have to go through all that crap before you can finally get to the point of, "Okay, it is our turn now."
It is just a strategy. It is not the being. Do not confuse roles with the being. What happens to us is that most of us who have produced children look around at the person we have produced the children with and say "Why?" The reality is that what our genetics demand, what our genetic say is necessary to produce a viable genetic mix for the next generation, may not be what your mind likes, may not be what your heart likes, may not be what your identity likes. This is so important when it comes to understanding resonance. Through resonance you can really see how you can work those things out in relationships by knowing how to meet people through the resonance. That is another story entirely. Anyway, these six roles underline the 59th hexagram.
Above the lines of the 59th hexagram it says: The ability to break down barriers in order to achieve union. Every single one of these roles is designed to break down barriers. These are genetic strategies. They know exactly how to work. They have this ability to break down barriers. That is what they are there for.

(Post 64) The Left Angle Cross of Migration 2
Basically we are designed to take planning and take it everywhere. The moment that we had the city of Ur, the moment that Mesopotamia established the first viable village city, it spread like wildfire, and of course, wildfire given the frequency of its time. After all, I used to remind my history students many years ago when I taught kids that if you could see Rome in the year 0, you would see a modern city. It didn’t have electricity, but you would see a modern city, a modern construct of a city with a modern city's population, with slums and ethnic neighborhoods and shops and public transportation and all of the things.
We are the nastiest creature that has come out of the soup on this planet. There is nothing meaner and nastier than the killer monkey, nothing. The killer monkey never asks if I go to the next valley will anything in that next valley mind. No, it’s I'm going to go into the next valley and if there's anything there I don't like, I'm going to kill it. In recent years I often refer to the Matrix films. There’s this wonderful scene in the first matrix film where the computer program that is an agent is trying to explain to a human how disgusting they are. And using the analogy of how difficult it was to think about them is an animal until finally they figured out what they were, that they were a virus. A virus—wherever they go, life is destroyed, whatever they touch. They leave behind such a mess, so much death. It's amazing.
Migration; think about that. That’s what we’re here for. It’s not enough that we can relax in our village; we actually want to get to a point where we relax on the planet as a whole. It wouldn’t take a chicken very long to acknowledge that we’re the biggest, meanest, maddest, cruelest most vicious rapacious nasty bastards that ever lived. I grew up on the Province of Quebec where the tradition of the Mohawk Indians was to take priests from France and to boil them alive, just boil them alive. And people think, how nasty. Yes, that’s us. It’s still us.
The whole thing about the Cross of Planning is that the Cross of Planning has prevented us from being as ugly as we can really be in many ways. It didn't stop us from institutionalizing ugliness. After all, if you’re going to control villages and whenever and you’re going to get into that trip, you’re also going to get into the destruction trip. My community is better than your community. And the whole thing to understand about humanity is that the only reason that we’re not one in terms of our comfort with each other is because of migration. The moment you move to a different valley you're automatically the next enemy.
And you can see that for many on the Cross of Denial in this movement that it's not enough to go to the suburbs and then retreat back to the inner core that you have to separate yourself entirely and move to the next valley. Think about the way in which formal religions are broken down by sects. The United States, as an example, was literally settled by religious fanatics who belong to various cults. They were just cults. It was next-valley business, and next-valley business became the enemy. It's been like that ever since.
But in the same way that the next valley allowed us to conquer the planet, it also placed us in competition with the only thing that could place us in competition—us. Oh, the 40/37 is a bitch. The tribe fights, the tribe kills, the tribe ritualizes death. The tribe does all that. It’s vicious; to protect the bloodlines, protect the gene pool.
So you get to the Left Angle Cross of Migration and you get to Rigidity. The recognition that to achieve liberation all negative forces must be rejected. The 5th line here and the 6th line, Decapitation, these are nasty lines, nasty. The revolutionary that demands absolute victory; the power of the ego is maintained in the rejection of negative relationships. I can't stand these people anymore, I can’t live with these people anymore, come with me. We will start a new world, a new village, a new life; follow me to the next valley. Call me Abraham, call me Moses, call me Muhammad, call me anything, let’s go to the next valley and then we have an enemy to compete with.
And when humans have an enemy to compete with, they go form stones to atomic bombs overnight. Isn’t that amazing? If the only thing that was our enemy was a bear, we wouldn't have had to develop nukes. It never would have been on the list. But we’re the enemy and migration creates it. And think about it as a global cycle. You have migration before you have planning, because we’re going through the precession of equinox. And so you can see what lead up to this time of planning.
After all, what did planning do? Planning legitimized what in fact were conquered areas throughout the world, states that were legitimized. Think about Europe. It’s very easy for people to think there’s this French tribe and there is this German tribe, but it’s not so simple. And there have been waves that came across. The first beings that came across, we ended up calling them Celts when they finally got to the end. You go into the heart of Bavaria and you have Celtic names attached to everything. The rivers, the villages, old Celtic “ing,” the i-n-g, you see this everywhere in that part of the world. Old Celtic Isar, the river of Munich, an old Celt name.
And there were all kinds of these movements that came across; migrations, one after the other, streams of them. And in the modern nations that we have were all developed in the cycle before planning. Where do you think the Catalans came from, they came from Visigoths that were here and Romans that were here. And then all of a sudden it gets concretized as a language and a state because it's more relaxing that way. The city state really functions. The nation state isn't too bad.
So, everything that's going to drive us is going to be here, particularly in the heretical 5th line—follow me to the next valley. And every heretic does this. I tell you follow me to awakeness. It’s such a trip. And the only reason that you move out of your valley is that you’re paranoid, and you're tired of them always projecting on you. I don’t want to live here anymore. I don’t like the way these people think about me. Let me out of here. They always want things from me that I don’t want to give them. I’m going to make my own village. I’m going to have my own rules.
The most incredible thing about the advent of the Cross of Planning cycle was that it’s almost exactly when utopian writing first began. We're going to have Erehwon, nowhere spelt backwards; we’re going to have this ideal place. You were going to have this and everything is going to work perfectly and everything is going to be organizing.

(Post 65) The 1st Line Personality
This is one of the things that is so devastating to 1s, something that's just not been resolved, something that's hanging there, something that's not complete, something that hasn't been really dug into because it lingers inside of them and it breeds the fears that the not-self lives on. This one thing at a time, for a 1st line being, is so important. It is one of those aspects in their nature, rooted in the continuity that flows upwards that can add such richness to delivering this information on the surface. Somebody who is a 1/3, what that is to be a 1/3, this is the foundation profile. Not the foundation line, but the foundation profile; a 1st line Personality, a 3rd line Design. And the 3rd line is deeply mutative.
It says something so extraordinary about life. It’s so wonderful in the way we can see it in the mechanics, this 1/3, the foundation constantly mutating. It is us. We are mutation. Atomics are mutative. We are the mutation. The investigator is alone. When you're dealing with a 1/3 or a 1/4 as profiles you’re dealing with the most insular personalities that we have. It doesn't mean that's what they display. That’s a matter of their Design. They may be designed to be tribal, social, whatever the case may be, but this is an insular Personality locked deep inside in its own aloneness. And without a solid foundation, it suffers. And that solid foundation is only trusting in itself, because if it cannot trust in itself, it is driven endlessly to try to find solutions that are not to be found.
For the 1st line Personality, nothing is more important than being able to see that they can navigate on this plane and it's all going to be okay. It’s why the not-self 1/3s and 1/4s have so much confusion in their lives and they don't know where to look. You need to be able to put certain things aside as a 1 and move on. You’re not here to spend your whole process trying to resolve a basic fear. And yet, without the cognitive, how difficult it is, if not simply impossible.

(Post 66) The Two Pressure Centers
It‘s always interesting where you start things. If I think back to my early teachings of channels I always started with integration. But I had a different intent. So I'm starting at a different place. I guess it's the world of madness, the mind. It‘s so extraordinary for me to look at the potential of self-reflected consciousness and to have been privileged enough to be able to experience in my life the enormous gifts that mental ability can bring. And yet, at the same time to look out at the world and see the way in which the awareness level of this plane operates.
It‘s one of the most fascinating things about the program and the way we‘re conditioned. There are two pressure centers in the BodyGraph. Other than the early reference you get when you're taking an ABC course, the fact is that these pressure centers are not given enough attention nor enough respect for the influence they have on the life. They are what drive us, the Head Center above and the Root Center below. What is so fascinating about the Head Center itself is that 70% of humanity—that's an enormous number of human beings, it‘s around 6 billion human beings—70% of humanity has an open Head Center, undefined Head Center. Of course, the not-self strategy of the undefined Head Center is thinking about things that do not matter. It's not so much that a thing, in and of itself, could not be of value; it‘s simply that it does not matter to you. And 70% of humanity thinks about things that do not matter to them. That creates an enormous pressure. It is one of the great conditioning forces on the way in which humanity conceptualizes.
It's also something to grasp that the influence of people who have definition between the Head Center and the Ajna Center are by far the most influential conditioning forces on the planet as beings. Think about that because it's quite something. After all, if 70% of humanity have an undefined Head Center, those 30% who carry Head Center to Ajna definition have an enormous impact on the society as a whole. What that says is that the way in which the 70% think about things is being conditioned by the 30%.

(Post 67) The 4 as a Personality
When I look at the 4s as a Personality, it is generally much more dysfunctional than 4 as a Design, because the 4 as a Personality brings all of those issues into the notself mind. And with the not-self mind comes all the distortion. And all of that distortion that's going to be rooted in the fundamentals of that person's design, whether they’re a single or a split or a triple split, what are going to be the conditioning factors, what is the density of the not-self, how is the mind framing these things, then this whole business about who is the right person become a mess.
Imagine that kind of a situation that it's up to the mind to decide who the 4 is going to invest their energy in; you know right away this is going to be a problem. And it’s going to be a major problem. Oh, the thing about cognition. This is something that I try to stress so much, how important it is and how difficult it is to bring that cognition to the surface when you’re dealing with the Personality. When you enter into Strategy and Authority you begin the process of bringing the physical cognition, the vehicle’s cognition to a point in which it is finally functioning and guiding the way in which the decision making process is going on for the vehicle. So if you are somebody that is a 2/4 or a 1/4, the moment that you’re entering into Strategy and Authority, you're already able to discern very easily who is correct for you, though it may be uncomfortable for your mind in the sense that it’s going to come directly out of the vehicle, out of the vehicle’s response or whatever the particular Strategy and Authority happens to be.
But if it’s a Personality phenomenon it’s something very different. That is, either in the 4/1 or the 4/6 there are certain obvious changes that take place in terms of the awareness because of the involvement in Strategy and Authority, but the mind is the last thing to be correct. And the mind is always subject to transference. And of course, transference is what is going to knock away the cognitive potential of the mind being able to discern.

(Post 68) Logic Can Find Satisfaction
Only logic can find satisfaction. You teach a child how to add or subtract. And you will see this incredible joy in the power of logic. It is an incredible thing to master the patterns. There is this enormous satisfaction when the pattern is right and it works, like putting the last piece into a jigsaw puzzle, the satisfaction that the pattern is right. The abstract never knows this. It wants it terribly. And because so much of the abstract is sexual, it carries with it is deep dissatisfaction. But logic wants the satisfaction and it wants everybody to be satisfied. It wants everybody to agree that the pattern is satisfying. It‘s never alone in that. It never challenges alone.

(Post 69) The 44th Gate: Surrender
On the other side we have the 44th gate, and the 44th gate is a gate of alertness. It’s in the Splenic System. Again, whenever we’re dealing with a Node that’s in the Spleen, we’re dealing with a Node that brings an environment of fear. This is a gate of alertness. So there is this fear and tension in the alertness that’s going to exist in the environment. But it’s: The success of any interaction is based on the absence of any preconditions.
Now think about that because it’s very, very significant. If you know circuitry in Human Design and you look at the tribe, you will see that the parallel to the 26/44 is the 40/37. The 40th gate is out of the ego, like the 26th gate, going down to the emotional system rather than to the Spleen, to the 37. The 40/37, the Channel of Community is all about the bargain. But look on this side, to the 44 and you can see that the bargain isn’t what it’s all about. It’s not about a deal. It isn’t. It is about the fulfillment of ambition. And there are to be no preconditions.
So here is an environment in which deals will not work. If you’re in this environment and you’re carrying the 44th gate and you’re busily involving yourself in arrangements in which you have to make a bargain in order to hope to get where you want to get to, you’re in absolutely the wrong place, because the right environment for you is an environment without preconditions. You can begin to see how conditioning can move you away from the natural environment you’re intended to be in.
One of the things to recognize about the nature of conditioning is how easy it is for conditioning. Remember that the Nodes themselves are only positions. They are not objects. How easy it is for the Nodes to be confused, how easy it is for imprinting to influence the not-self and move it away from being able to be in the right environment and not see that the lack of preconditions is correct, instead of being conditioned to think that you have to have preconditions in order for anything to be a success.
So here we have a very interesting stage, this polarity between the 24 and the 44. At the deepest area of this is the ability to be able to see the positive of this environment. Transformation, renewal and success, they’re all there, but you have to be able to accept, surrender to, which is one of the inherent themes of the 44 in its movement towards the 26, you have to surrender to your environment. And you cannot do that with the mind. You can only do that mechanically through correctness, through honoring your Strategy, following your inner Authority.

(Post 70) The 2nd Line Talent is Deeply Specialized
I look at the determination and the determination is the Color influence on the Design side. The Color influence in the Design side is something very interesting. It's about being open and closed. It’s a dietary regimen that insists on very, very fixed, very specialized process. In that one can grasp something about this gift of the so-called talent that we’re always projecting onto the hermit itself, onto that 2nd line, to be able to see clearly that this is a deep, deep, deep specialization. It's not one that everybody can call. It isn’t, even though they think they may see something that they can call; it isn't. It's very special.
And fulfillment for the 2 is very special. They’re waiting for something. They’re waiting for their lives to unfold. There’s nothing designed to be more patient about the unfolding of life than the 2/4. You give me a child that is raised correctly as a 2/4 and it will look like they actually don't even care. They're just going to be incredibly laid-back, allowing the river to just flow. If you don't understand that, it can certainly give you the wrong impression. It has to be so specialized. It’s like Achilles, you can whack them everywhere. You either had to have inside information or the serendipity of the gods on your side to defeat such another.
It is something to grasp about this specialness of the 2. It is, in its own way, very different from the psychological to the physical side wherever the accent happens to be for you. The 6/2s and the 5/2s is another process entirely. It is about understanding this Achilles? nature. It’s about recognizing that you have a vulnerability, a physical vulnerability. It’s being aware of that. I’m not saying that to frighten anybody who happens to be a 6/2 or whatever. But it’s simply just the reality of the way in which that works.

(Post 71) Calling all 4th Lines!
"The 4 that enters into its process correctly as itself will take on a foundation that is legitimate for it, a foundation that it can influence others with. There is the potential always for correctness. But what a pressure it is on them, what an enormous pressure.
The community of Human Design— the moment I leave this plane, and sooner or later the bus is going to show up—when I leave this plane, it will be 4’s that will maintain the foundation. It isn’t to say that the other lines aren’t going to have their “this or that” with it, that’s not the point. It will be the 4’s that will say, “Well, this is the way it was done and we’re not going to change it.” And I’ll be very grateful if they do their job well, because there are already mad, crazy, stupid people out there who think that they know better than the Voice, and it’s outrageous. However, life is what it is.
But it’s really something to grasp; we need our good shepherds. We need, within the community of our work those that will have this influence, who will be able to influence others in a network of familiarity and bond them in this process. For the growth of Human Design anyway, it is only when people begin to experience the community of Human Design and what it means to be in a community with others who are aware, that the real transcendent value of this knowledge, far beyond what it does for any individual, will actually become evident. This will be on the backs of the 4’s, and there is not a lot of time to set that foundation. There is about 120 years, something like that. It’s enough time. All the 4’s that are born before 2027, for as long as they live will carry what’s left of this whole mystical process, and this ability to bring their influence to others.
So, whenever you meet a 4 that’s interested in Human Design you make nice with them, do a very good job with them, teach them well, and give them a really good foundation. Whenever I have a 4 for a reading I always make sure I add little extras, just to make sure they grasp how profound this foundation is because it’s all they’re looking for in life, and it’s not conscious. If they’re going to operate correctly, they are going to resonate to precisely the right foundation for them to export; that’s their job."

(Post 72) The Dropping of the Larynx
Something so different about us, that difference in the way in which the ultimate strategic potential could be fully developed in us is the dropping of the larynx. It‘s this extraordinary mutation in which ideas and language, the ability to communicate concepts becomes a possibility, and the ability to be able to communicate concepts and to mutate the other through the communication of concepts. This ability to be able to communicate, this ability to be so deeply strategic, created this possibility 7000 years ago that you didn‘t have to go out in the field and you didn't have to go out on the hunt.
As a matter of fact, you can actually sit and think about this and that. It‘s totally different. It‘s when we began to break away from being a mammal. Not because we have shed it, by the way. We are still killer monkeys. But we are very, very, very sophisticated killer monkeys, no question about that. But it was breaking away from the limitation of it, because it‘s not just about the potential to guarantee our survival. It offers so much more. It offers what we share today. It‘s quite an incredible thing.
So when we're looking at variable, we are looking at something that is really very, very special, because it is organizing us, literally. And it is organizing us in certain potential awareness patterns. As we'll see, these awareness patterns or the potential of awareness patterns are actually families, in that sense. And we get to deal with the mysteries of the way in which the variable opens up.

(Post 73) hexagram 44 coming to meet
We will shift to the possibilities and, in doing so, understand that there is an unseen process that takes place. There is a movement between potential and possibility. It uses the language of the mind to describe it. I call it conceptualizing. One has to divorce oneself from thinking that conceptualizing is a word that describes a mental process. Let's take the assumption that this is a word we can use to describe the awareness process, which requires a leap. There is a jump, like neurons firing in the brain. There is a jump that takes place between the potential and the possibility. This is a very special place. Because we know that we deal with a wave environment at the emotional level and a frequency environment at the awareness level, we know that there is a movement in the frequency from the potential to the possibility.
One of the things that we will see as we go through our process with the lines is that you can almost read what takes place in between the lines. When you go for example to the 44.1, that started in the 32.1 and there is a process of conceptualizing to bring the possibility of that awareness to a point of clarity. This is a very special place. One of the things to keep in mind is that when you come to doing your own line studies, you will discover that, as you move through the lines, this movement becomes visible. You can see what is taking place as a conceptualizing process moving from the potential to the possibility.
The 44th hexagram and the 24th hexagram that is opposite it, the 19th and the 33rd hexagram form a cross in the zodiac. It is called the cross of The Four Ways. Coming to Meet is one of the four ways, the only one that is healthy. What you have to keep in mind about the relationship between the splenic and the heart center is that this is the only place where they meet. The thymus gland sits in the 26th gate and our lymphatic system is rooted in the 44th gate. Out of these two is where our basic protective system is developed: the B-cells are produced in the 44th gate and the T-cells are produced in the 26th gate. Together they form the healthiest channel that we have. The nice joke is that the healthiest way is the material way. This is very true because we have 10 million children born each week that are born hungry It is obvious they are not healthy because they are lacking material sustenance.
In the hierarchy, we see that the 44th gate, in terms of this material movement, is the personnel manager. It is the great nose. It can smell anything. That is what it is there for. The gate of alertness: Coming to Meet. It says here (above the lines in the original white book), the possibility is the transformation stored or not as a memory.
Remember that the 32nd gate, the potential in this stream, is the potential to recognize what can be transformed, or not. Once the 32nd gate (the financial officer) says, "I am going to spend my money on it," at that moment, the 44th gate is ready to take that and store it as a memory. It stores what that is and works with it. When it is stored as a memory in the 44th gate, then they know exactly that the 26 will be able to carry that out. After all, the 44 cannot do it itself. The splenic system is not a motor. It is looking for the ego and its willpower in order to fulfill whatever this transformation potential is. It is one thing for the 54 to come up with the energy for the transformation. It is another thing for the 32 to say, "All right, we will commit to it." It is yet another thing for the 44 to go looking for the right ego, but it still has to get out there and manifest in the end.
The awareness possibility is the osmotic regulator. This is cellular memory. This is the water balance. This is where the cellular memory is at its deepest. This is the pure gate of instinct, which means that the first and second lines that are instinctive themes represent the deepest cellular memory that you are going to find in a human being. These people have a very, very rich memory system. This is a spontaneous memory. Do not forget that we are dealing with an existential center. This is not a memory that can be called up. The 26th gate is the ability to manipulate, The Taming Power of the Great. The memory in the 44 is available instinctively in the moment, and it is there to recognize what is the right ego and what isn't to fulfill the transformation. The personnel manager always has to surrender to the financial officer's decision.
In the 32nd hexagram the heading was: The only thing that endures is change, and when you come the heading of the 44th hexagram you have: The success of any interaction is based on the absence of any preconditions. There are no preconditions. There is the instinctive memory of what is necessary which will simply respond in the now to the right relationship, to the right interaction in order to fulfill the transformation.

(Post 74) The Mind and Motivation
I look at motivation and I see it as the deepest challenge that is there for anyone who is trying to complete this holistic process of transformation and awakening. The personality is always a dilemma. The mind and its deep connection with the vehicle and its desire to maintain its control over the direction of the life, the fears that human beings have, how easy it is for the mind to be able to jump in and start taking control and making decisions in the life. In understanding the purity of the natural world, it’s also there to inspire you. We, too, can return to the purity of that consciousness field, but not at that level obviously, we are different. We are far superior when it comes to the infrastructure mechanism for the potential of mental cognition. We have these tremendous brains. We have an extraordinary possibility of expression through the self-reflected process of mind.
Our dilemma is that mind has never been trained to see. Mind has only been trained to be in control of a runaway vehicle. And of course, the frustration or the anger or the disappointment or the bitterness that comes with being unable to hold onto this runaway vehicle and control it. Oh, how important it is to work with your mind, to exercise your mind, to recognize transference. For you to see clearly what is correct for you, to see what motivation lies underneath and to not allow it to drift. And it requires simply an attentive mind. Well “simply”, it’s a nice way of saying it. It’s quite a thing to get your mind to just stop being concerned about your life, stop insisting on wanting to make decisions.
The longer that I do this, I’ve tried so many ways to explain to people that when you use your strategy, decision making seems so straightforward. And that the mind cannot make the decision, it can’t. If your mind makes the decision you’ve lost your cognition. You do not have the right motivation. You cannot be the being that you’re intended to be. And you can only have that kind of attentiveness of mind when it’s relaxed, when it can kick up its feet in the back seat of the limo, make itself really comfy, have a nice, nice view and watch the movie. And watch the movie driven in the way that it’s correct so that you see with the perspective that is essential to the expression of your unique awareness. It is what we’re here for.
We’re not like the beast on the savanna. Oh yes, I can romanticize the beauty of the natural order, the beauty of the consciousness field in the grasp of the planetary program. But we’re much, much different than that. We are not here to herd and homogenize, to all run blindly in the program together. That’s ok if you’re sheep in the field. There is no other consequence. There is no awakening as a possibility. But for us to follow our motivation is to follow the road to our uniqueness, our unique mind and the beauty of our unique mind.
This is what it’s for. It’s for the seeing. And you see in context, the context that your motivation gives you. And it is that very seeing, what you can grasp from that, that you can express as outer authority, what gives you value to the other. There are so many relationships in a life, but what do you remember? The ones that gave you something, an inspiration, a truth, honesty, love, whatever, but that’s what we remember. It’s what means something to us. We all crave outer authority, unique outer authority, like children in a high school that pray that there will be a teacher that can turn them on, because it’s important for us. We need outer authority. But not just the old homogenized.
This is the time to break away from that, to express unique authority. You can only do that when you are properly motivated, correctly motivated. It is only then that you have access to the cognition underneath. It is only then that you can make intelligent observations, and your intelligence, your gift, your specialization.

(Post 75) A Line is a Script Influenced From Beneath
But we’re not programmed from the top down. We’re programmed from the bottom up, and we are programmed through the neutrino stream moving through the crystal, which basically is a Base, Tone, Color phenomenon as it moves through. This is the underlying information that forms the basis upon which presentation takes place. It is on the surface through the line that we have the script and literally it is that, it is a script. It is a script to be differentiated by the spirit of the actor or actress that's going to fulfill that particular role or that particular aspect of a role that's inherent in that script. It’s what a line is.
And yet, the reality is that everything about the nature of that script which stands on and therefore has its own unique and fixed values is about the way in which it is going to be interpreted, it’s going to be interpreted by the way it’s influenced from beneath. One of the themes that I'm bringing to this kind of analysis of line is to understand the underlying thematics that are there in the structure and the structure rooted in the six. What are these relationships that are there? And yet, it's very important to be very cautious about the way in which you use this information. It is a way for me through continuity to add depth to your understanding of the line, but it doesn't fix anything. That is, this isn’t the way the line is always going to function.

(Post 76) Being a 5 Personality Teaches You to be Very Connected to Yourself
One of the things about being a 5 Personality you learn is that it teaches you to be very connected to yourself. And it’s an extreme in my design because of certain activations that I have. It really gives you this very, very solid footing to stand on, because you can't believe anything that anybody says. If anybody really knows me, one of the things they know is that I don't like praise. I’m a 5. It's always something that makes me uncomfortable. I'm immediately, immediately suspicious. Because I don’t believe what other people see.
I've learned all my life that they don't see me. So, if they see something that smacks of the positive or the terrific or this and that, I don’t believe it either. I just look at it with the same sort of squint of my eye and watch the movie, because it what it is to be a 5. I guess it is very helpful in the sense of being a little more detached than I think other lines.
It’s the whole thing about the conditioning/conditioner business. It really is. It is the thing that makes change possible on this planet, change in human beings. I know that. Every human being I've deconditioned is a human being who has a better life. And they know that. Every human being Human Design will ever decondition is going to have a better life and there’s no question about that. So, I understand the beauty of how conditioning can be something that is so powerful and positive. I’m a dualist and not a moralist. It’s all things? it’s always like that. There’s all this “this and that” out there. The magic is not to be mentally involved in trying to live out your script.

(Post 77) The 1st Line Feels Inferior
Based on your openness, based on the openness in your design, the hanging gates, the bridges for the splits, you don’t know what to look at, you don’t know where to look, and you don’t know where to start. And the most common thing of the 1st line being is to feel inferior. The home of the inferiority complex, inferior because they try to multitask, inferior because they are simply not correct, inferior because they absolutely have no idea what the fear is for. They don't. And they’re all alone.
When you look to the Design and you look to the Color, you see the continuity going back to cave people—insular, closed off, always trying to protect themselves. This is where the whole foundation of life on this planet is rooted in fear. The fear that the humans will finally go over the top and eliminate everybody, the fear of this, the fear of that, the fear this plague, this thing, that thing, fear, fear, fear, fear, fear, with nothing to hold on to, nothing stable.
We don't have true investigators on this plane. We have generic, fearful people. And most of the fear is masked by knowledge, as if somehow the knowledge is going to liberate them. In the notself it does not work. You’re notself, you’re full of fear, and you’re an investigator. You think something's wrong with you. You go Googling for symptoms, and you end up with some exotic diseases you are convinced that you have, that you're afraid that you’ve got it—the investigator going mad.

(Post 78) Gate 26
The 26 is the only tribal mercenary gate. It‘s a mercenary. It will work for anyone. Look at me; I work for the Voice. I‘m not joking. It‘s true. It‘s my Jupiter. I teach out of that. When you get to the 26th gate you get to the right Angle Cross of Rulership. Then you can understand why there is this movement from the 5 to the 26 if you're just looking at the dynamics. You can see that one of the ways to instill the flow to the tribe is through their leaders.
Take the example of Christianity because it‘s in the news these days. Constantine was a Roman emperor, and before Constantine Rome was whatever, they had their typical Roman gods, and they had gone through various phases of who is better and which and the different kinds of things, but nonetheless, there was no Christianity even though there had been Christians for a very long time.
For 300 years there had been Christians in the Roman Empire. And yet the Roman Empire wasn‘t officially Christian. And Constantine has an epiphany. He has an epiphany before a battle in which he has a Christian moment and he wins the battle and he had sworn beforehand that if he wins the battle that he will become a Christian. He changed the whole Roman Empire to being Christian overnight. He didn‘t have to go evangelize one by one by one by one. He didn‘t have to convert. You got the ruler; the ruler turns around and says to all the people, we‘re now all Christians. That‘s it; over.
So, this is the magic between the movement of the 5 to the 26. The 5 says, all right if we want to get them in the flow, let's get the leader. Let‘s sell this to the tribe from the top. And what's on the other side of the 26? It‘s the 45; the ruler of the tribe. So in order to be able to move the flow and extend the flow into the tribe you need to use the 26.
The maximization of power of memory applied to the nurturing of continuity. It sounds good doesn't it? This is one of the great memory gates. But look at the name of this gate. This is The Taming Power of the Great. Now, taming is a funny word. You only get that in two hexagrams: The Taming Power of the Small, and here The Taming Power of the Great. What is being tamed? It‘s not detail. It‘s memory. Now, taming memory is not the same as just remembering. It‘s not like this is the power to remember. This is about taking advantage of memory, manipulating memory, using memory—I have a statistic that says that over the last 10 years more people have enjoyed this product than ever in the history of humanity. Well, it‘s not true.
The tribe loves exaggeration. Most people think that the 26 is terrible because it exaggerates. But the 26 is designed to exaggerate because this is what the tribe loves. They think it‘s the best. When you go to the tribe and you say to them, I have the very best, the very best, the very best they go - yes! If you say to them, I don't really know how good this is, they say, don‘t bring it to us. If you have a piece of garbage, a machine that has a built-in shelf life of 26 days, you can go up to them and say this is the best machine that God ever made. They love it; they‘ll buy it.
When it breaks down they actually don‘t complain, because it's embarrassing that it wasn't the best and they got fooled. Do you know many people in the tribe buy ridiculous things all the time, because they‘re told it‘s the best and they find out immediately it wasn't and they don't tell anyone? It‘s astonishing. In America there are products that have been sold for 10, 20, 30 years that supposedly do something and they've never done it. They still have the same ads and people still buy it and they don't tell anybody afterwards.
So, the 26 knows that in order to get to the tribe you have to say this is right, this is terrific. And the logical collective cringes. They say, oh, but there is no detail. That's not really the pattern. The collective says I need a salesman and then the salesman blows everything up that the collective wants presented. And then when people buy into it, they go to the collective to complain. And the collective says no, it was the salesman, he lied. It‘s the gate of the coyote, it‘s the gate of the trickster, is a gate of Prometheus and Loki and Mercury and all of these things.

(Post 79) The 2 and the 5: Projection
It’s only then that you will discover what it is, because I don't think that most people recognize the talent, that gift, that 2 in the other. I don’t think they recognize it at all. They project on it. This is one of the most important themes always to keep in mind about the harmonic of the 2 and the 5, that this is where all projection is, whether it’s internalized personal projection because again remember that the 2nd line is the heart of the lower trigram process. It is a heart of looking inward. It is the projection of looking inward, whereas, the 5 is the projection looking outward. It's very different. That hermit is always drawing that internal projection, but it's a projection. And projection is always determined by the awareness of the projector, pardon my expression, but it is. So, that person that says to the 2 “I see something in you,” they may see something but that doesn't mean that they're seeing what is specific and what is correct for that 2, it doesn’t mean that at all.
So many of these children that are 2s that is projected on them, for example, the 2 body children, you can see their turmoil, particularly in the 6/2 where they’re going to go through the 3rd line phase the first Saturn cycle of their life. Their physical talent is going to be misinterpreted. So, they'll be sent to ballet or karate or this or that or whatever the thing may be, the fact is, it is going to simply be a projection of the parent on what they think they see in their child's talented body in where they project on that child. The same thing is true with the Personality. It just operates in a different way.

(Post 80) We have a Very Long Maturing Process Now
The new life cycle is very beautiful. There are so many people who complain about the level of consciousness on the planet and talk about the evolutionary process and what it really has delivered. It has delivered the age of Uranus for us. The Uranian cycle is a comment on our own evolution. We have become so sophisticated that we are basically immature until we're nearly 40 years on the planet. This is a whole new world. The Uranus Opposition is exactly equal to what the Saturn Opposition used to be, and the Saturn Opposition took place when you were 14 years old.
The fact is that we have a very long maturing process now and one that I don't think we're paying enough attention to because it has to do with the way in which we deal with our children and condition our children. The institutions we have and the basic morality of the societies we live in insist that our children face the future in the same way that their ancestors did who lived in the Saturn cycle. It's insane in this modern cycle to take 15-year-old children and say to them, “What do you want to be in this life?” And let's point you in that direction. This is not what it's about.
I think it's going to take many generations before it's deeply understood that we are living in a totally new cycle. So, the Kiron is very important because it is really intended to mark that place where we have everything we need to live out our purpose, because that's really what it's about. What I call the flowering stage. In other words, here is the opportunity, truly, to live out the purpose. It's a complex cycle we go through. Until you get past the Uranian point, because the Uranian Opposition represents this change from prana in to prana out, the period between your Uranus Opposition and your Kiron is where you're really there to master the presentation that you're going to make when you reach your Kiron.

(Post 81) Strangers are not for the Opportunist
You always know that an opportunist has gone over the edge when they’re embracing strangers. They’re desperate and their network is falling apart. If you’re an opportunist, strangers are always going to be the most dangerous thing for you. They’re not for you. Anybody that's new in your life has to come with a recommendation, with an introduction. To be a 4 and to truly be healthy you have to be very disciplined about your relationships. And it's not easy. There is this natural camaraderie that is in the 4th line. And given the construct of people’s designs, some of whom are quite social, it gets very easily confused.
In a sense, the 3-4 are very much about the material plane. The 3 is about the material itself. The 4 is about the resources of the material plane, the human resources and the way they work. One of the things about the opportunist is that they need to look at those beings in their life with a material eye. Given our various cultures and the way in which people consider these things, that wouldn’t be considered very nice or romantic or politically correct, but this is a heretical knowledge, after all, it’s just the truth of it. Are these people going to be good for me; and that often is something that is deeply material. Are they reliable? Can I count on them?
Because remember, it's not just simply selfish, please understand that. I don’t want to give that impression. The 4 at the same time is doing something that is essential. They are externalizing that secure platform, whatever that secure platform happens to be. They're the ones that are influencing others. Those that are in their network appreciate that at some level or another, whether they appreciate it to the point that it’s beneficial ultimately to the opportunist is another story, but it's not like they are taking and not giving.
As a matter of fact, they are the foundation of transpersonal relationships. Everything about the nature of meeting the other in terms of the way the script is written begins at the line level in the 4th lines. If you want to see all of the social paraphernalia of human interaction read all 64 fourth lines and you will see the social dynamic of the transpersonal interaction and the way to bring about influence, those 64 different potential externalizations or influences that there in those 4th lines.

(Post 82) Dietary Regimen: Hot or Cold
This is the great pain for the 3. You see it in their determination, in the continuity to the 3rd Color on the Design side. Their dietary regimen is manipulative—hot or cold. They have very strange digestive systems. They either run too cold or they run too hot, and they need to be adjusted. And until their digestive systems are adjusted, they're not running at the right temperature and if they're not running at the right temperature, they’re not going to be able to be resilient enough to be able to penetrate the maia. I always think of the 3rd line as something that burrows its way into the side of a hill. And as it’s burrowing its way into the side of the hill, it’s throwing out all the crap as it goes along looking for that “itness” that belongs to its own personal destiny that it is deeply absorbed, whatever it may be. But you can’t get there until you pass through the maia of lies, no 3 can.
I remember my father's library. I was very lucky. My father was an avid reader, one would say obsessive. He had an enormous collection of books. From a very early age I just lived in a world of all of those lies, all those stories, all those tales. You begin to see how duplicitous this seven centered being was. If you walk up to a Generator that's correct and you say to them “do you love me,” and they go “uhuh” there is something absolutely exquisite about that. It may have its dramatic consequences, we all know those things.

(Post 83) The End of the Movie
This is the end of the movie by the way. There is no 7th line. Yes, there are always cycles, but this is the end of the movie. In the larger scale this is where we are. This is what is pointing us at the necessary framework and tools to survive in the future, what's needed. But more than that, whenever you get to the end in some ways you can get to the very, very best of what it is to be in this process, this consciousness in form. We have a spectacular time now. It is spectacular. We’re in the middle of huge changes. We have extraordinary information. We have practical tools.
What we get to discover is that the moment that you give authority to the life, to the form, everything changes, everything. We finally get to see what kind of a world we’re in and what the world is for us. It's the spirit, after all. The spirit of humanity is so depressed. It is angry and frustrated and bitter and disappointed. This is humanity? and very serious, yes indeed, very, very serious. Ah, the beauty of what it is to watch the movie. I love watching my movie because it's entertaining and it's funny. It’s this and that, too, there’s everything. But, it's not personal.
I realized right away that when my vehicle was making decisions that my mind has nothing to do with any of that. I didn’t know what the hell is going on. Helpless and incompetent, I rather love it. The humiliation for my Personality, my mind, the great humiliation, a good mind is totally useless, totally pointless. It is only when my mind realized that, that my passenger could emerge. The whole construct fell apart, it just fell apart. It wasn’t needed, it wasn’t necessary, it brought nothing of value. What mind doesn’t know is my mind just measures. It doesn’t have anything else to do. I watch it measure. And then it has lovely moments like that this where it gets to exercise outer authority, which I also just watch, because there isn’t anything else. It's not the “me,” whatever.
That’s the beauty of the 6. Every being that carries the 6 carries the magic of the future, it carries the magic of what's possible for a human being, what’s possible for any human being if they're fortunate enough in this life to come in contact with this knowledge and they get to experiment with it and see for themselves. Ultimately we all of us gets to live the benefit of that.

(Post 84) The Gate of Wanting / Approach
The gate of wanting, Approach: That all things are interrelated is apparent and manifested through the action of approach. That all things are interrelated—now, let me ask you a very simple non-rocket scientist question. If this gate is about everything is interrelated and this gate is about to mutate, one of the things that we‘re going to see is that not all things are interrelated. It's one of the deepest changes that comes with the emergence of the rave. In other words, we will not be able to interrelate with them. But not only with them, but our ability to interrelate with mammals is going to change.
Something very funny in the news the other day was a very strange piece from the State of Wisconsin in the United States. It was legislation in the local legislature to create a law that would allow for the killing of feral cats. Now a feral cat is a house cat that's wild or a house cat that doesn‘t have a collar. And they obviously have a problem with, as most places do—we have an enormous problem here in Ibiza with feral cats. One of the byproducts of 2027 will be a very different relationship between humans and what we call pets.
The 19 is a funny gate. The 19 has to do with so many things. But at its deepest level, the 19th gate is really about our relationship with mammals. Our ability to cultivate meat as a diet has given us enormous potential as a species. We have a very special relationship with mammals. And the 19/49 is a cross-specieal connection.
