Introduction

The traditional event of each academic year in the educational institution "Belarusian State Medical University" was the holding of an international scientific and practical conference of students and young scientists "Actual problems of modern medicine and pharmacy", in which both students and postgraduates, undergraduates, clinical residents take part, candidates and doctors of science under the age of 40, as well as medical workers who are systematically engaged in scientific activities.

The key role in organizing the conference belongs to the Student Scientific Society, which is the coordinator of the research work of university students.

Based on the results of the conference, a number of collections of scientific works of young scientists and students are published, in particular, an electronic collection of research materials containing their own research results.

This methodological manual provides the basic requirements for writing and formatting articles for subsequent publication in the collection of materials of the scientific and practical conference "Actual problems of modern medicine and pharmacy." The purpose of this manual is an accessible and systematic presentation of the most important principles and requirements for writing and formatting scientific articles, which contain their own research results.

This manual is intended for students, graduate students, undergraduates and other young scientists.

Section 1. General requirements

1.2. The article must contain materials containing their own research results and comply with copyright regulations.

1.3. The article should be drawn up in accordance with the rules set out below and a sample of article formatting (Appendix 1).

1.4. Print format - A4, orientation - portrait.

1.5. The minimum volume of the article is 3 typewritten pages, the maximum is 5 pages.

 

Section 2. Structural elements of the article

The article should contain the following sections:

- "cap" in English;

- Summary in English (no more than 5 typewritten lines);

- relevance, purpose, objectives, material and research methods, research results and their discussion, conclusions;

- a list of used literary sources (up to 10 sources).

 

Section 3. Fonts and spacing

3.1. The article should be typed in a Microsoft Office Word text editor in Times New Roman.

3.2. The font size of the "header" (title of the article, information about the authors, educational institution), the main text of the article - 14 pt;

3.3. Font size of resume and keywords, bibliography - 12 pt; titles of figures (diagrams, diagrams) and tables - 12 pt;

3.4. The text of the tables is printed in 12 pt font, the list of references - 12 pt.

3.5. Line spacing is single.

 

Section 4. Margins, indents, alignment, hyphenation, pagination

4.1. The default margins should be set as follows:

- left, top and bottom - 2 cm,

- on the right - 1 cm.

4.2. First line indent (paragraph indent) - 1.25 cm.

4.3. Alignment of the "header", the names of the figures in the center without indentation 1.25; table names - left-aligned without indentation 1.25; the text of the article - by width;

4.4. Auto hyphenation (Page Layout> Hyphenation> Auto).

4.5. Do not number pages.

 

Section 5. Design of the "heading" of the article

The "cap" of the article refers to information about the authors, the title of the article, scientific advisors and organizations on the basis of which the research was carried out.

5.1. The first paragraph - the initials and surname of the author / co-authors (co-authors are listed separated by commas) - are printed in bold italic type.

5.2. The second paragraph is the title of the work in capital (capital) letters in bold.

5.3. The third paragraph - information about the supervisor (s): academic degree, academic title, if necessary - position (in the absence of an academic degree and (or) title), initials, surname - are printed in bold italics. If there are several scientific advisers, then they should be listed separated by commas.

Information about academic degrees and ranks, positions should be shortened in accordance with the generally accepted rules for reducing the designations of academic degrees, ranks, positions, military ranks

5.4. The fourth paragraph is the name of the department (subdivision). The paragraph is drawn up in italics.

5.5. The fifth paragraph is the name of the institution (s) in which the author (s) works, the city. The paragraph is drawn up in italics.

5.6. The sixth paragraph is an empty line.

5.7. The seventh paragraph is the text of the article.

5.8. Center alignment without padding 1.25.
